As a Technical Program Manager (L6) in Privacy & Data Protection Engineering at Netflix, you'll partner with engineering and product teams to reduce data risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a responsible data culture. You'll work with an established team to solve complex challenges and impact the business.

The Team
The Security and Privacy Technical Program Management team is a force multiplier; we partner closely with engineering and product teams across Netflix to deliver results. We collaborate cross functionally to align on strategic goals and vision, and then we work with the right stakeholders to establish and drive impactful initiatives.

The Role
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Data Protection program! In this role you will partner closely with the Privacy and Data Protection Engineering team to reduce data risks, ensure regulatory compliance and foster a responsible data culture across Netflix. 

This role is a unique opportunity to build on your prior expertise in privacy and data protection. You will work with an established team of privacy and security engineers to identify, develop and drive the development and adoption of various data management capabilities across multiple data platforms, which will be used by product and central engineering organizations. In this role you will navigate through complex technical and operational challenges in capability development and adoption across areas such as data inventory and classification, access control, retention, encryption, de-identification and many more.

The ideal candidate is skilled at both program strategy and execution supported by a strong  technical domain expertise in privacy and data protection. You might come from a software or data engineering background, or otherwise have deep technical expertise on data management systems and solutions at scale. In this role you will have the freedom to innovate, solve challenging problems with a great team of domain experts and impact the business in a meaningful way. Desired Background

  • You’re passionate about privacy and data protection!

  • You’re familiar with technical Data Protection or Governance programs, all the way from policy creation to control implementation and user support.

  • You’re able to identify gaps in solutions and debate technical approaches for data inventory and classification, access control, data retention and various Privacy Enhancing Technologies.

  • You have experience driving large-scale technical initiatives on shared infrastructure platforms and managing the definition of technical strategies.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear articulation of business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience.

  • You are able to triage multiple initiatives to make a judgment to tackle the right problems at the right time.

  • You’re comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.
