Launched in 2017, Tide is now the leading business financial platform in the UK with 575,000 SME members (10% market share) and more than 250,000 SMEs in India. Headquartered in London, Tide has over 1,800 Tideans across the UK, Bulgaria, India, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine and Germany.

Tide is rapidly growing, expanding into new markets and always looking for passionate and driven people. Join us in our mission to empower small businesses and help them save time and money.

About the team

Merchant Acquiring team is a fast growing product area within Tide which is on a mission to provide the simplest and easiest ways to get paid. It is of prime importance for our merchants as payments acceptance is critical to enabling commerce for any business.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional Product Marketing Manager to build out our Merchant Payments Acceptance Payment Product propositions and marketing suite. As our Product Marketing Manager, you will focus on product growth engineering execution, leverage analytics and insights to propel our product to new heights. You will be instrumental in driving our product-led growth initiatives, working closely with product and engineering teams to enhance and expand our market presence.

In this role, you will support and drive the building of the product marketing strategy through the lens of a member first approach, acquisition opportunities, customer targeting, and competitive landscape. Reporting to the Director of Product, Merchant Acquiring, you will craft our merchant payments acceptance strategy on a global basis.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Growth Engineering Execution: Lead initiatives that enhance our product's performance, optimising every aspect from user onboarding to retention. Your work will directly influence the growth trajectory of our Merchant Payments Acceptance product, allowing us to reach even more small businesses.
  • Analytics-Driven Decision Making: Utilise tools like Heap and Looker to analyse user behaviour, and product performance metrics. You'll extract insights that inform our product growth marketing, ensuring we make data-driven decisions that resonate with our target audience.
  • Product-Led Growth Strategy: Develop and implement marketing strategies that put the product at the centre of our growth efforts. By understanding customer needs and leveraging product features, you will help drive adoption and engagement, maximising our product's business and commercial impact.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with product management, engineering and marketing channel teams to ensure alignment on product messaging and positioning. Your leadership will help bridge gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  • Continuous Refinement: Collaborating closely with other Product Managers at Tide to help inform and guide product roadmaps utilising feedback loops from members, external research and data driven insight. Working with the product, business, and finance teams to set pricing that aligns with the product value proposition.
  • People Management: Whilst the initial role would require to be an individual contributor, it would be important for you to be able to  lead a team of product marketing managers as per the growth needs of the merchant acquiring business.

What we are looking for

  • You have 7+ years' relevant product marketing experience.
  • You have experience in and understanding of the SME space, SaaS software and/or fintech. Previous experience in working with physical point of sale and/or eCommerce payment acceptance products especially in the SME space is preferable.
  • You have a track record of successful end-to-end product marketing campaigns with real business impact: defining the value proposition, creating effective product marketing materials and ensuring successful execution with a cross-functional team; we’re after someone who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty and remove any blockers that might be on the critical path.
  • You’re comfortable working in a fast-moving company where priorities can change and processes may need to be created from scratch.
  • You have very strong project management skills and can foster collaboration with teams outside of your direct control by building strong relationships.
  • You’re well versed in product analytics, and can use data to drive decisions within product marketing campaigns and follow it up with actions to constantly improve on product acquisition and engagement  goals.
  • You’ve worked across multiple markets, and have managed the complexities of global product development with limited localisation as required.
  • You’re a self-starter who doesn’t wait for instruction, and who works backwards from targets to ensure effective execution.

What you’ll get in return:

  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible working options
  • Share options
  • Group Life Insurance
  • Vitality Health Insurance, with a proactive focus on mental and physical wellbeing
  • 25 days holiday with the ability to buy extra days
  • 3 days for L&D or volunteering time off per year
  • We invest in your development with a £1,000 professional L&D budget per year
  • Access to ‘salary sacrifice’ benefits such as Cycle to Work scheme and pension contribution
  • Spacious brand-new office near Old Street with an all-day snacks bar
  • Enhanced family-friendly leave
  • Sabbatical leave
