Job Function Description:

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of engineers, particularly those working with ColdFusion, modern front-end frameworks, and robust security practices. You will provide technical and strategic guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, emphasizing innovation, security, and performance optimization. Your leadership will drive the team to meet market demands efficiently while maintaining high code quality and fostering a collaborative environment.

You will be responsible for:

Strong Technical Focus and Leadership: Dive into complex technical issues, particularly within ColdFusion and modern front-end technologies (React, Angular), guiding the team through challenging problems.
Service Ownership and Development Best Practices: Take charge of maintaining and operating our team’s services, implementing development best practices to foster the production of high-quality, well-architected, and sustainable code.
Cross-Training and Feature Balance: Foster cross-training initiatives and maintain a healthy equilibrium between feature development and technical enhancements.
Provide coaching and mentorship to engineers emphasizing critical skills in ColdFusion, front-end technologies, and security practices.
Conduct regular performance reviews to assess and support engineers’ growth and development.
Manage career development plans, ensuring alignment with individual and company goals.
Commercial Insight and Stakeholder Communication: Utilize your interpersonal skills and commercial acumen to ensure team members understand the impact of their work on product delivery. Also, provide estimates for delivery to stakeholders.
Vision Alignment and Strategic Clarity: Clarify the team's vision, mission, and strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives to avoid wasted efforts.
Collaboration with Product Owner: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to comprehend and contribute to the product roadmap.
Agile Methodologies and Continuous Value Delivery: Employ Agile methodologies with the assistance of the Scrum Master to continuously deliver value to customers.
Cultivate a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection, encouraging the team to reflect on past experiences and strive for ongoing enhancement.
Develop detailed project plans outlining key milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
Ensure transparency by providing detailed reports on initiative status, including metrics, timelines, and any deviations from the plan.
Provide feedback and input to VP and CTO to align initiatives with overall company strategy and vision.
