About the job

Job Description

As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. As a Program Manager focused on Security, you’ll use your expertise to protect corporate, user, and cloud data from attacks. You’ll protect network boundaries, ensure Googlers write secure code, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks, and lead efforts to protect passwords, customer data, and other highly sensitive information. You will also work with Software Engineers to proactively find and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in technical program management on security or software engineering programs
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Manage security programs, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.
  • Understand the end-to-end solution and implementation path to execute large security projects.
  • Coordinate between different security teams, and set clear expectations about responsibilities.
  • Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company.
  • Partner with other Security teams to provide members ample opportunities for growth and deeper investment across various Security domains.
Good to have:
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience working with security and privacy concepts
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary security-related projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan program requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.
