Do you have a passion for animation? Are you a creative who can lead a team of animators to produce high-quality work? Kokotree is looking for Senior 2D Animators to join its team!

Mentor and coach younger animators and establish best practices to ensure quality output. You will also work with design teams to create elegant, approachable, and compelling animation that is contextual to the creative goal of a project.

To be successful in this role, you must have mastery of Adobe Suite software, especially Animate, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. You must also be familiar with motion graphics-style animation effects. A portfolio/reel of work that conveys your ability to direct high-level animation work for various content types is required.

Responsibilities

Led, managed and worked closely with 2D animation teams
Mentor and coach younger animators while also cultivating a sense of community across departments
Establish best practices and ensure quality output
Work with design teams to create elegant, approachable, and compelling animation that is contextual to the creative goal of a project
Balance the demands of producing exceptional work while also satisfying the needs of our clients
Manage multiple tasks in a collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced environment—but speak up when overloaded and lend a hand to others in need
Collaborate with producers and creative directors to help resource jobs, plan production pipelines, manage workflow and manage deadlines
Be an active participant and contribute to the creative culture of the studio

Requirements

Mastery of Adobe Suite software, especially Animate, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator
3D animation skills are a plus but not required
A background in education is a plus
Must know how to 2D character animate—via cell animation, character rigging, shape layers
Must be familiar with motion-graphics-style animation effects
Animation, Design, or related degree, along with relevant work experience
Minimum eight years experience, with at least three years as a senior animator
Deep familiarity with workflow, saving, and rendering best practices
Familiar with working on projects for all major content platforms
A portfolio/reel of work that conveys an ability to direct high-level animation work for a variety of content types
Know how to take creative direction, respond to feedback promptly and be respectful of project deadlines
