The Senior Auditor is responsible for conducting financial, operational, ESG, integrated SOX audits and ad-hoc projects within the Risk and Control Department, specifically for SPE's global operations. This role involves close collaboration with the Audit Manager and Director of the Risk and Control Department. Responsibilities include leading SOX process walkthroughs, evaluating control environments, overseeing testing, preparing audit reports, and assisting in audit planning and execution. This role requires understanding of internal controls, SOX/COSO practices, and US GAAP, along with experience in data analytics.

Job Details

Accountable for completing areas assigned for a wide range of financial, operational, ESG, integrated SOX audits and ad-hoc projects at Risk and Control Department responsible for SPE’s global operations. Working closely with Audit Manager and Director of Risk and Control Department at SPE.

Job Requirements:

SOX

  • Train multiple consultants on SOX processes and controls prior to walkthrough meetings with management.
  • Lead process walkthrough preparations and meetings with management, consultants, and external auditors, asking probing questions about control process and control design.
  • Evaluate control environments for key controls and design weaknesses.
  • Oversee consultants’ test of operating effectiveness, providing guidance and answering questions.
  • Review consultants’ test sheets and workpapers for completeness and accuracy of testing.
  • Review end-of-year SOX reports and provide insight into process improvements.
  • Identify issues or SOX deficiencies for the areas assigned to you. Make sure the issues and SOX deficiencies are supported and confirmed.

Internal Audits/Projects

  • Assist the Manager in completing audit planning, including data analysis using specialized analysis and visualization programs such as Qlik, PowerBi, etc.
  • Execute audit/project plans (e.g. narrative, walkthrough, testing as applicable) with well-organized workpapers for assigned areas effectively and timely, with minimal oversight from the Manager.
  • Prepare audit reports that accurately summarize the most significant control weaknesses and resulting impacts to the organization.
  • Continuously update the Manager about the status of the audit areas you are assigned to.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in audit or relevant experience
  • Understanding of internal controls approach, SOX/COSO practices and US GAAP
  • Competency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience with data analytics (and tools)

Preferred Skills:

  • Foreign language proficiency a plus
  • Media or Entertainment industry experience is also a plus

Education

  • BS/BA in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field preferred
  • CPA or CIA preferred

The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000-$115,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
