Job Description

As a Senior Character Artist at Flying Wild Hog, you'll be crucial in producing high-quality character assets, optimizing pipelines, and collaborating with tech teams. Responsibilities include delivering exceptional character models (sculpting, modeling, UV, texturing), working closely with the Lead Artist, resolving technical and artistic challenges, enhancing tools and tech, staying current with industry trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will be instrumental in ensuring the game's visuals meet both aesthetic and performance standards while leveraging Unreal Engine 5.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our game studio as a Senior Character Artist. Your role will be instrumental in delivering great art and helping us improve our pipelines, processes, and artistic workflows. 

Be the one setting the Gold standard and help teams to achieve such standards in collaboration with Tech teams. 

Create high-quality character assets, streamline our character development pipeline and keep abreast of the latest industry trends.

Senior knowledge of industry-standard tools and software is needed for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver High-Quality characters (Sculpt, model, UV and texture) that exceed the game's aesthetic and performance standards
  • Work closely with Lead Character Artist according to the art direction
  • Collaborate with Tech Teams in technical and artistic problem-solving discussions, aligning character art production with technical constraints
  • Work with Tech teams to balance visual quality with performance, devising efficient solutions for potential risks
  • Help Improve our Tools and Tech, enhancing our tool base for seamless solution integration. Request needed changes to Tech teams
  • Stay Updated with Industry Trends and advancements and help Tech teams implement relevant innovations to our projects
  • Conduct Visual Research and Development for Character Art development to create a believable and engaging visual experience
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to elevate gameplay mechanics and improve overall project quality
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall project goals
  • Utilise Unreal Engine 5 tools to create compelling and technically efficient setups, integrating the latest industry trends in real-time character creation

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in developing character models and textures
  • Proven track record in AAA game development, having contributed significantly to at least one complete project cycle, with credited contributions.
  • Strong understanding of human form and anatomy
  • A keen eye for stylization
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work efficiently within a team
  • Ability to easily communicate in English
