Job Description

Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg seeks a Senior Construction Manager for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects. Responsibilities include overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design, schedule, and quality standards (including cleanroom conditions), coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, managing low, medium, and high voltage scopes, and proactively identifying and resolving issues. The role demands strong problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and experience with mechanical systems (HVAC, Dry Air, Exhaust, Dust Collection). The successful candidate will contribute to project success from concept to completion, including tender package preparation and cost/timeline monitoring.

Must have:

5+ years Site Management experience
Cleanroom experience preferred
MEP system expertise (HVAC, etc.)
Proficient in English
Construction management software skills
Strong problem-solving abilities

Good to have:

German or Polish language skills
Familiarity with HOAI Leistungsphasen

We at Gigafactory Berlin Design and Construction are looking for a Senior Construction Manager to join an energetic and vibrant environment. In this role, your main responsibility is to coordinate ensure with all stakeholders that the construction project is successful from concept to completion.

What You’ll Do

Project Supervision: Manage all on-site construction activities to ensure multi projects are executed according to the design, schedule, and quality standards. Ensure construction activities comply with cleanroom conditions.
Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate several external, including subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and productivity.
Manage Low, medium and high voltage scopes, starting from design coordination until handover.
Problem Solving: Identify potential issues or delays and implement solutions to mitigate risks or setbacks.
Define the problem statement, record the assumptions, come up with solutions.
Understand the Production and Manufacturing needs and translate them into tangible requirements for the team to work on.
Participate in the concept design phase and provide input until the handover phase.
Lead, coordinate, and conclude the MEP construction activities amongst several teams.
Monitor the cost and timeline of the project and deliver with the approved budget and timeline.
Prepare tender packages, collect the necessary documents, write a scope of work.
Health & Safety: Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all site personnel, particularly in accordance with Cell Production room specifications.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Site Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry. Preference for clean room experience as battery or pharmaceutical factories.
Proficiency in English written and verbal communication is a must. German or Polish is a plus.
Familiar with Leistungsphasen nach HOAI
Ability to deal with the ambiguity when necessary.
Strong decision-making skills and get-things-done attitude.
Assertive and strong stakeholder communication skills
Solid experience with mechanical systems (HVAC, Dry Air, Exhaust, Dust Collection etc…)
Proficiency in construction management software and tools (Navisworks, Bluebeam, MS-Office)
