Zynga is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join their Zynga Poker team. This role will involve collaborating with the Product team to enhance revenue, retention, and engagement metrics. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data analysis and data science principles, proficiency in Python and SQL, and experience in data mining, data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning. They will be responsible for conducting A/B testing, performing insights analysis, developing dashboards, and working on projects within a GitHub environment. They will also be expected to continuously learn about analytics best practices and promote them across various games and teams. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects focused on modeling the in-game economy, personalizing the in-game experience, and combating fraud and abusive behavior.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • Minimum 4 years in data science or analytics roles
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience in data mining, visualization, statistical analysis, machine learning
  • Strong communication skills
Good to have:
  • Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD)
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git

AVAILABLE POSITIONS Senior Data Analyst – Zynga Poker

Zynga builds highly popular social games that are enjoyed by millions of people every day worldwide. To-date, more than 1 billion people have played our games across Web and mobile, including FarmVille, Zynga Poker, Words With Friends, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, Merge Dragons!, Empires & Puzzles, Hit it Rich! Slots, Toy and Toon Blast, and CSR Racing.

Zynga’s Data Science and Analytics team applies our outstanding and expansive data to model and predict user behavior, making our games more personalized and enjoyable to play! We continually strive to better understand our players, and provide them with experiences that surprise and delight.

Here’s where you would come in: as a member of Zynga Poker, you will join a “Forever Franchise”, a Zynga designation for games that bring in at least $100 million in revenue per year. A successful candidate will be passionate about using analytics and data science to impact revenue through customer-centric, data-driven initiatives.

This person will partner with other analytics/data science teams and studio leaders around the globe to identify and act on opportunities to increase engagement, retention, revenue, optimization, and improve the player experience for our customers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Product team to enhance revenue, retention, and engagement metrics. This includes conducting A/B testing, performing insights analysis, and developing dashboards.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of a wide range of tools and models used to streamline workflows and personalize the player experience, in collaboration with other data analysts and scientists on the team.
  • Design and develop projects within a GitHub environment.
  • Continuously learn about analytics best practices, and actively share and promote these practices across various games and teams.
  • Specifically, you may encounter projects focused on: modeling the in-game economy through simulation, personalizing our in-game experience, or combating fraud and abusive behavior through near-real-time interventions.
  • Proactively bring forth new analytical approaches and data science solutions to our team. Collaborate with engineers to drive key strategic initiatives for the improvement of the data and analytics infrastructure.
  • Be a champion of best practices when defining telemetry events, architecting data models, and defining data quality governance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years in data science or analytics roles.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience in data mining, data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau and version control systems such as Git is advantageous.
  • Strong ability in both written and oral communication.
  • Highly self-motivated with a keen interest in problem-solving.
  • Willingness to take ownership of challenges.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
