Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Senior Engineer focused on MES Integration and Database Migration, you will play a pivotal role in migrating our shop floor workflow from legacy ACCESS databases to our new Manufacturing Execution System, Cumulus. This role requires advanced programming skills in SQL, Python (or C/C++), and a good understanding of MS-Access. Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of our manufacturing processes, enabling enhanced traceability, lot control, serialization, and recipe management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of shop floor workflows from legacy ACCESS databases to the Cumulus MES platform, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to manufacturing processes.
• Utilize SQL and Python (or C/C++/C#) programming skills to develop and implement migration strategies, maintaining data integrity and system functionality.
• Facilitate the migration of our legacy Quality Control (QC) database to the new MES, ensuring that all historical data is accurately transferred and accessible.
• Develop Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to enable effective communication between shop floor equipment, sensors, and the MES, enhancing automation and real-time data collection.
• Implement traceability, lot control, serialization, and recipe sheet functionalities within the MES to improve product tracking and quality control.
• Write and execute software validation test scripts to ensure that all new systems and updates meet the required standards and regulations.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years' proven experience in SQL and Python programming, with a strong preference for candidates also proficient in C/C++/C#.
• Familiarity with MS-Access and experience in database migration projects.
  
  

Skills

• Experience in developing APIs for industrial automation and interfacing with shop floor equipment and sensors.
• Knowledge of software validation test script writing, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Should be flexible to work outside of business hours.
• Onsite at office for all 5 days.
