Job Description

NVIDIA's SoC Memory Subsystem team seeks a Senior Firmware Engineer to contribute to the development and validation of firmware for DDR memory and the memory subsystem. Responsibilities include firmware development, silicon bring-up and debug, planning and implementing memory interfaces, DRAM interface timing tuning, reviewing datasheets, and refining the memory bring-up and validation strategy. The role requires expertise in digital and analog systems, computer architecture, and debugging, along with collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities and be comfortable handling diverse responsibilities throughout a product's lifecycle.
Must have:
  • BS/MS EE (Embedded Systems)
  • 5+ years experience
  • DDR protocol experience
  • C/C++ coding skills
  • Data structures knowledge
  • Excellent debugging skills
Good to have:
  • ASIL process knowledge
  • PC systems, Windows/Linux knowledge

We are now looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer for our Memory Subsystem Team!

NVIDIA’s SoC Memory Subsystem team is looking for curious, collaborative, and motivated hardware engineers to take our memory subsystem from first silicon power-on to production.

What you'll be doing:

  • Firmware development for DDR memory and memory subsystem, validation and debug of firmware and silicon bring-up and debug for Nvidia SOC product

  • Planning and implementing memory interfaces, validation, and feature enablement on NVIDIA SoC products.

  • Tuning DRAM interface timing

  • Reviewing DRAM datasheets.

  • Exercising your expertise in digital and analog systems, computer architecture, and debugging skills to tackle exciting problems.

  • Refining our memory bringup and validation strategy.
     

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS EE degree with focus in embedded systems (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of proven experience

  • Experience with DDR protocol is a plus.

  • Good understanding and coding skills in C/ C++

  • Understanding of data structures.

  • Knowledge in ASIL process and flow will be an added advantage

  • Working knowledge of PC systems, windows OS, and Linux.

  • Excellent debugging skills. Able to break problems down based on first principles.

  • Possess good collaboration and cross-disciplinary teamwork skills.

  • Comfortable assuming different responsibilities over the life of a product.


Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Familiar with scripting or programming languages such as C, C++, JAVA, Python, or Perl.

  • Experience with embedded firmware.

  • Deep understanding of technology and passionate about what you do.

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, specifically a proven track record to optimally guide and influence within a dynamic matrix environment.

The base salary range is 148,000 USD - 287,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
