Role: Senior IT Specialist

Experience: 5+ Years

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior IT Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT support and a proven ability to manage and optimize IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring IT resources, and providing technical assistance to employees. The candidate should also have expertise in managing devices in remote locations and implementing security measures and policies to protect customer and organizational information. A strong understanding of compliance standards, data protection, and best practices in IT security is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in person, ensuring prompt and effective issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and resolve them efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Ensure data security and compliance with standards such as SOC2 and ISO 27001
• Monitor and manage remote machines and systems, ensuring optimal performance and security across distributed environments.
• Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware components
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patch management, and system backups, adhering to IT best practices.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues proactively, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, procedures, and security policies.
• Assist with IT projects, including software deployments, system upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard customer and organizational data.
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with SOC2, ISO, and other relevant standards.
• Train employees on security best practices, including recognizing phishing attempts, password hygiene, and secure data handling.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of relevant experience as an IT specialist or similar post.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an IT Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, graphic cards, and operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience managing and implementing SOC2 and ISO 27001 compliance processes.
• Knowledge of data security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with monitoring tools and endpoint security solutions.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including risk management, incident response, and security audits.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex IT issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and train staff on IT policies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
