The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Managing Counsel, EMEA & India, with at least 8 years of experience to join our dynamic legal team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel & Senior Director, Commercial for Moloco Ads, you will help the legal department establish and execute strategies and processes to support Moloco’s scalable growth and build trust with customers, partners, end users and regulators.  

As the primary counsel to our EMEA and India business teams, you will play a critical role in supporting a variety of strategic partnerships and commercial transactions, providing comprehensive legal advice, support and leadership to the company’s operations in the wider EMEA region & India. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues at the intersection of machine learning, programmatic advertising, and global regulatory change.

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and excited to partner with cross-functional teams to drive business growth while mitigating legal risk.

The candidate should be located near our London office and will be expected to be in the office on a hybrid schedule (e.g., several times per week or as needed).

The Opportunity:

• Provide legal counsel, guidance, and support on a wide range of legal matters related to Moloco's current and future legal and business operations in EMEA and India.
• Take ownership of drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of legal agreements, including but not limited to, demand and supply side ad-tech agreements, vendor and procurement contracts, and other customer-facing agreements.
• Be a legal business partner to Moloco’s revenue teams in EMEA and India, summarising and communicating legal concepts and risks in a way that is meaningful to business teams and other internal clients. 
• Advise internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation to accelerate contract velocity.
• Seek to understand the context of the positions of Moloco’s customers and the requests from internal clients, and strive to solve problems and address issues from their perspective. 
• Support the continuous improvement of agreement templates and legal processes.  
• Collaborate with internal clients and other legal team members to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with business decisions and initiatives.
• Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations, including ad-tech and privacy laws, and advise internal clients accordingly.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Moloco policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance across all EMEA and India offices.
• Manage and oversee any legal disputes or litigation involving Moloco in EMEA and India.
• Provide legal training and assistance to internal clients to enhance their understanding of legal requirements and best practices.
• Assist on day-to-day legal administrative and contract management responsibilities.

How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me?

• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorised to practice law in the UK or at least one country in Europe with a demonstrated record of success as a lawyer. 
• Minimum of 8-12 years of experience as a legal counsel or attorney for a software / technology company, preferably with a focus in the ad-tech or machine learning industry. 
• Extensive experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
• Experience working in a multinational company with executive management overseas.
• Strong knowledge of EMEA regional-specific laws and regulations, particularly in areas such as commercial law and data privacy.
• Familiarity with India-specific laws and regulations, particularly in areas such as commercial law and data privacy.
• Proven ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical and strategic advice.
• Ability to triage a heavy workflow, setting appropriate priorities with internal clients and delivering results efficiently. 
• A pragmatic, business-minded approach to legal guidance, focusing on solutions rather than roadblocks.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver legal advice in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal.
• The ability to collaborate with diverse teams across different functions and cultures.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of rigor and accuracy in work.
• Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and self-starter, with a growth-oriented mindset.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a fast-growing technology company is preferred. 
• Both law firm and in-house experience are preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce, Ironclad, Slack, DocuSign, and contract lifecycle management systems.
