Job Details

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

At Netflix, we're reimagining entertainment through series, movies, games, live events, and more. The Consumer Insights (CI) team plays a crucial role by uncovering and sharing deep human insights, using Qualitative and Quantitative Research methods, to identify opportunities and guide innovations across Netflix.

To ensure that there’s unhindered access to these powerful insights, we’ve built an internal Knowledge Management system, optimized our planning systems, and have rolled out guiding principles and a new look and feel for CI comms. Now that these foundations are in place, it’s time to bring the power of all of these initiatives together and to drive insights more holistically throughout the corners of the business. This is where you come in.

In your role, you’ll work in partnership with CI researchers and leaders to ensure that the right insights land at the right time and in the right medium to have optimal business impact across all levels of the company. You aren't interested in doing the research yourself. You’re especially gifted at synthesizing insights from a range of business areas into impactful communications across spoken, written and visual channels. This includes collaborating with team members on everything from crafting memos that reach the Board of Directors to videos that leverage footage from global fieldwork — thematically connecting the dots across CI studies regardless of the medium. You will voraciously consume our teams’ insights and, as a result, become a much sought-after colleague and collaborator with others. Your strong communication and storytelling skills means that you become a trusted advisor to peers and play a role in elevating the wider team’s expertise in this area.

In this role, you will leverage your:

  • Professional Experience

    • Possess over 5 years of work experience in Management Consulting, Internal Communications, Journalism, Consumer Research, or an Insights role.

    • Experience in or related to the consumer insights or research discipline is highly desirable.

  • Communication Expertise & Passion

    • A skilled writer and verbal communicator with a gift for organizing, synthesizing, and conveying ideas clearly and concisely.

    • Approach communications with a minimalist mindset, understanding the complexities of global messaging and navigating them adeptly. You’re an expert at making impactful points with few words.

    • Employ several tools in your communication toolkit beyond words - such as graphic design and data visualization. You’re exceptional at creating visuals that convey complex information effectively.

  • Hands-on Execution & Creativity

    • Enjoy rolling up your sleeves and putting pen to paper. You are energized about the end-to-end process and enjoy thinking through solutions, timelines, execution, and socialization components just as much as the more visible or creative elements.

    • You can distill key insights into engaging formats such as memos, decks, presentations, videos, websites, podcasts, etc., and are able to identify the optimal channels to disseminate this work.

    • You systematically map out CI Comms in alignment with the business operating rhythm and meet deadlines through strong communication with contributors, while also having experience with marketing strategies and optimizing communication channels for maximum ROI.

    • You are able to scale yourself. This isn’t a white glove service for the chosen few. Your ability to amplify your personal impact and develop scalable solutions will ensure you have maximum impact and will serve you well in this role.

  • Collaborative Thought Partner & Curiosity

    • Independent thinker, capable of articulating and defending your viewpoints.

    • Innovative, connecting diverse information to generate insights.

    • Driven by curiosity, with a talent for sourcing high-quality information across various subjects.

    • Enjoy collaborating with diverse colleagues, and fostering teamwork.

    • Pragmatic, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of effective strategy and execution.

    • Skilled in identifying and nurturing creative ideas for development.

    • Possesses a global-first mentality, ensuring solutions cater to the global Netflix community rather than a US-centric approach.
