Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer - Data at Nielsen's Marketing Cloud, you will design, build, and manage data architecture for various projects ranging from serverless to big data pipelines. You'll focus on creating highly distributed, scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective systems. Responsibilities include working with cloud services (AWS preferred), server-side development using Scala/Java and SQL, data modeling, database design, and experience with technologies like Airflow, Spark, Trino, Kafka, Druid, RDBMS/NoSQL databases, Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines, Terraform, and Ansible. The role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing, distributed systems, and continuous improvement. Proficiency in Python is a plus.

Must have:

4+ years server-side development experience

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with cloud services, preferably on AWS
A degree in computer science or equivalent At least 4 years of hands-on experience in server-side development working on several complex projects
Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala (or Java) and SQL.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good English (verbal AND written)
Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, data warehousing concepts and distributed systems principles
Experience with data-driven technologies like Airflow, Spark, Trino, Kafka, Druid, Hive and RDBMS/NoSQL databases
Deep knowledge and experience with Kubernetes
Experience with continuous deployment tools like GitLab pipelines, Terraform and Ansible
Knowledge in Python
