Software Engineer II, VR Prototyping

THE ROLE

As part of a small and dynamic team, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing R&D efforts within the prototyping team. You’ll rapidly iterate on digital character-focused demos and prototypes working as the “integrator” inside real-time engines like Unreal by bringing together the vision of the Art Director.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a research or advanced development environment, with a focus on real-time graphics and VR/AR prototyping. This role is perfect for someone with a background in the games industry as a senior developer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with the teams to evaluate and define the best 3D real-time approaches and optimization practices.
  • Participate in ideation sessions with creative and technical peers to help plan and troubleshoot the design of prototype demo experiences.
  • Assist in the conception and development of the demo functionality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless technology integration and compatibility of high fidelity character models

WHO YOU ARE

  • BS degree in Computer Science, or related fields
  • Professional experience in C++ working on a game or VR/AR experience with tools for internal use in a studio environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in real-time graphics development
  • 4+ years of experience with Unreal Engine and Unity3D
  • 3+ years of experience in rapid prototyping
  • Basic understanding of linear algebra and 3D graphics fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Houdini and/or Maya
  • Working familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000 plus equity (per qualifications)
  • The base pay actually offered will take into account internal parity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
