Job Description

As a Staff Engineer in the Enphase Cloud Engineering group, you'll design, develop, and maintain cloud-based software services for millions of users. Responsibilities include building applications and services for homeowners, installers, and customer support; prototyping technologies; designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure applications using microservices, web services, and batch jobs; and working with IoT device integration. You will utilize best practices including clean code, test automation (TDD), monitoring, and performance benchmarking. The role requires expertise in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs, and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. You'll be responsible for delivering feature changes handling millions of daily requests while adhering to quality and schedule targets.

Must have:

5-7 years Frontend experience with React.js
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
RESTful APIs and GraphQL integration
Experience with unit and end-to-end testing
Agile/Scrum development experience

Good to have:

TypeScript
Experience in Renewable Tech companies
Knowledge of IoT/Hardware integration

About the role:

As Backend Staff Engineer in Enphase Cloud Engineering group, your mission will be to design, develop and maintain cloud-based software services & modules that cater to millions of users and process terabytes of data.

Enable Enphase to succeed in Solar Energy domain by building application and services for various stakeholders of the company including homeowners, installers and customer support

What you will do:

Proven experience in distributed highly scalable distributed application
Proven experience in micro-services architecture with k8s deployment
Rapidly prototype technologies, tools and components for evaluation
Design and implement scalable, reliable, performant and secure applications & services in the realm of micro-services ,webservices, batch Jobs , web Applications , data processing , device integration (IoT)
Ability to develop software programs with best of design patterns , data Structures & algorithms
Follow and implement best of the software engineering processes that include clean code , test automations ( TDD) , monitoring , performance bench marking etc
Work in very challenging and high performance environment to clearly understand and provide state of the art solutions ( via design and code)
Ability to debug complex applications and help in providing durable fixes
While Java platform is primary, ability to understand, debug and work on other application platforms using Ruby on Rails and Python
Responsible for delivering feature changes and functional additions that handle millions of requests per day while adhering to quality and schedule targets.

Who you are and what you bring:

B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from top tier college and >70% marks
Proven experience as a frontend developer with at least 5-7 years of professional experience, including significant experience with React.js and related tools and libraries (e.g., Redux, React Router, etc.).
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend technologies.
Expertise in building responsive and cross-browser compatible web applications.
Solid understanding of frontend architecture principles, state management, and component design patterns.
Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL integration.
Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel).
Experience with unit testing (e.g., Jest, Mocha) and end-to-end testing (e.g., Cypress, Plural).
Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
Very good knowledge in TypeScript and its integration with React.
Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A passion for coding, a commitment to quality, and a collaborative team-oriented attitude.
Good knowledge and experience with Agile, Clean Code, TDD methodologies
Exposure or knowledge in Renewable Tech companies
Familiarity with Web Front End (Java Script/React)
Familiarity with working in Internet of Things / Hardware integration
