What you need to know about the role
Quality Engineer role, embedded in scrum teams to work together with PMO, PM and developers to deliver payment products.
You will perform functional testing, end to end testing and implement automation testing. And accountable to the product quality.

Meet our team
PayPal China QE team is looking for seasoned quality engineers based in Shanghai. PayPal China is a 100% subsidiary of PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL). We are based in Shanghai and our goal is to deliver cross-board payment products and end to end solutions for millions Chinese merchants with world-class security, scalability & simplicity.
You will collaborate with business, product and developer teams to shape our payment product, help to accelerate the delivery for PP products with high quality.

Job Description:

Your way to impact- 

You will own the quality of PP products, productization and delivery of the test solutions to improves productivity, test efficiency and scale to support our business growth.

Your day to day –

In your day-to-day role you will:

•    Perform functional testing, integration testing, performance testing & end-to-end testing to our global payment products

•    Design, develop and maintain automation test cases, writing test report 

•    Follow up SOP, work with SRE and developer teams to do live issue triage, RCA investigation to keep high site availability and win customers back

•    Continuous improvement on testing efficiency by leveraging new testing techniques, tools and AI 

•    Collaborate with business, product and developers located in multi locations to shape our payment products and win together

What do you need to bring-

•    Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures  

•    Understand SDLC, experience with large scale distributed software system testing

•    Experience in leading testing for large projects

•    Experience in design and implementing automation framework from scratch

•    Excellent understanding of backend/middleware like restful, GRPC, Redis, RabbitMQ etc, experience with database, rational (Oracle, MySQL) or NoSQL 

•    Strong coding capability with Python/Java, familiar with pytest/testNG/postman/Playwright/Selenium

•    BS/MS in CS or related field 

•    Minimal 8 years working experience

•    Excellent communication skills, good oral and writing in English (English level 6 and above) 

•    Motivated & self-driven 

Good to have:

•    Familiar with payment, checkout, onboarding, compliance, risk domains  

•    Hands on experience using Jira/confluence or similar doc tools, experience on using test management tools like testrail, browserstack.

•    Organized, think methodologically when encountering problems, independently get things done 

•    Innovative, creative, think outside of the box 

•    Quickly exploring options 

•    Fail fast mentality and good learning capability

•    Team lead experience
