Job Description

The Staff Test Engineer - High Power will be responsible for migrating existing In-Circuit (ICT) and Functional Test (FCT) programs to the Teradyne TestStation platform. This role involves supporting software development for new PCBA ICT/FCT programs, developing new Transformer Test programs and variants, and creating test programs for modifications. The engineer will also be responsible for releasing and installing new testers at subcontractors, documenting test programs and processes, and driving continuous improvement of current test programs. This position requires a minimum of 12 years of experience in test development for electrical components and integrated circuits, with advanced knowledge in power electronics, analog, and mixed-signal electronics.
Must have:
  • Migrate ICT/FCT programs to Teradyne TestStation
  • Support software development for new PCBA ICT/FCT
  • Develop new Transformer Test programs
  • Develop test programs for new variants
  • Release and install new testers at subcontractors
  • Document test programs and processes
  • Drive continuous improvement of test programs
  • BSc/MSc in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years experience in Test development
  • Advanced knowledge in power electronics
  • Experience with Labview and Teststand programming
  • Very good written and oral command of English
Good to have:
  • NI Certification (CLD/CLA/CTD/CTA)
  • Experience with Keysight Medalist i3070/Takaya Flying Probe
  • Knowhow on Partial Discharge Testing
  • Knowhow on Transformer Safety Testing
  • Experience testing automotive certified PCB assemblies
  • Knowledgeable in automotive requirements (VDA, IATF)
  • Proven knowledge in PCB Design (Altium Designer)

Staff Test Engineer - High Power
Responsibilities     
  • Migrate existing In-Circuit (ICT) and Functional Test (FCT) programs from old platforms to the Teradyne TestStation platform. 
  • Support software development of new PCBA ICT/FCT programs together with Test Engineers located in Biel. 
  • Develop new Transformer Test programs and subsequent variants. 
  • Develop test programs for new variants that requires major software/hardware modification. 
  • Release and installation of new testers at subcontractors. 
  • Documentation of test programs and processes (Test specifications, release procedures, etc.) 
  • Drive continuous improvement of the current test programs and processes in production. 
 Education and Experience  
  • BSc/MSc degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar education. 
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in Test development for electrical components and integrated circuits. 
  • Holds advanced knowledge in power electronics, analog and mixed signal-electronics. 
  • Experience and knowhow in programming and creating sequences in Labview and Teststand a must. Holds NI Certification (CLD/CLA/CTD/CTA) is a very advantageous. 
  • Experience in programming In-Circuit Test (ICT) and Functional Circuit Test (FCT) on automated test platforms such as Teradyne TestStation, Keysight Medalist i3070 or Takaya Flying Probe an advantage. 
  • Knowhow on Partial Discharge Testing and Transformer Safety Testing is an advantage. 
  • Experience in testing automotive certified PCB assemblies and knowledgeable in the automotive requirements (VDA, IATF) is desirable. 
  • Proven knowledge in PCB Design (Altium Designer) is desirable. 
  • Very good written and oral command of English 
  • Open to travelling to the EMS in the Far East up to 10% of the time.
