Job Description

The Supervisor/Assistant Producer, Publicity, Anime Production will assist the Animation Manager/Chief Producer in various aspects of anime production for Warner Bros. Japan. Responsibilities include liaising with business units, sourcing original works for adaptation, negotiating with publishers, coordinating approvals, staffing key personnel (directors, designers, etc.), supervising scripts and storyboards, managing production schedules and budgets, executing marketing and PR activities, and contributing to the Animation Production Committee. The role requires a good understanding of animation production, market needs, and marketing plans. Quality control within the animation studio is also a key aspect.

General Summary:

Assist the Animation Manager/Chief Producer with production issues arising in connection with Warner's local animation production for Warner Bros. Japan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with business units for business operations based on production plans
  • Sourcing materials of original works for anime adaptation
  • Determine which original works will be a hit in animation
  • Request and negotiate with publishers of original works for permission to animate
  • Approval coordination of animation for publishers, animation studios and related parties
  • Staffing of main staff such as directors, character designers, musicians, sound directors, voice actors, etc.
  • Supervision of scripts and storyboards
  • Attendance of master material production and production of deliverables
  • Support the Manager/Chief Producer to assist all animation production as decided by the Manager/Chief Producer under supervision
  • Execution of marketing activities including PR as decided by the Manager/Chief Producer
  • Assist the Manager/Chief Producer in the operation of the Animation Production Committee
  • Manage the production schedule of animation studio
  • Manage budget for animation production as requested by the Manager/Chief Producer
  • Making suggestions to the Manager/Chief Producer regarding planning and animation studio
  • Propose and execute a simple plan per receipt of approval by the Manager/Chief Producer

  • Potential to understand the production process in an animation studio for quality control
