Position Overview:
As a Technical Data Steward, you will ensure adherence to data governance policies, maintain metadata processes, and enforce data quality controls. Key responsibilities include documenting data assets, resolving data quality issues, and monitoring compliance with regulations like GDPR. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to align practices, implement validation rules, and ensure data is accurate, compliant, and business-ready.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all data
assets adhere to the company’s data governance policies and
procedures.
Work closely with data stewards, data
owners, and other stakeholders to enforce
compliance with regulatory requirements, including GDPR, and other
data privacy standards.
Work closely with
data governance engineers, data engineers, and tech teams to ensure
technical compliance across the data lifecycle, from data creation
in the source systems, ingestion to the data platform, to reporting
and data usage.
Administer and maintain metadata
management processes, ensuring all data assets are accurately
documented and searchable.
Administer and process change requests
related to metadata management in collaboration with data stewards
and data owners, by using data governance platform and tools,
ensuring changes are processed and implemented in a timely and
compliant manner.
Review and track changes to data
structures, data flows, and metadata, ensuring they align with
governance policies.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on
metadata definitions, data ownership, data lineage, data usage, and
business rules associated with data assets.
Ensure alignment between data management
practices and business needs, translating technical requirements
into comprehensive metadata documentation.
Implement and enforce data quality
controls in collaboration with data stewards and data governance
engineers, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and fit for business
use.
Collaborate with tech teams to implement
data validation rules and automatic checks to prevent data quality
issues.
Conduct root cause analysis on data
quality issues and work with data stewards and data governance
engineers to resolve discrepancies.
Define and monitor key data quality
metrics and communicate performance to stakeholders.
Work closely with tech teams, data
governance team and data engineering team to ensure that technical
changes are properly documented and reflected in the governance
tools.
Serve as a bridge between data stewards
and data governance engineers, ensuring that data governance
requirements are translated into technical specifications.
Support the implementation of data
governance tools and platforms, ensuring technical capabilities meet
governance needs.
Generate reports on data quality,
compliance, and governance metrics to share with stakeholders and
executive leadership.
Ensure data stewards, data owners, and
business stakeholders have access to clear and actionable
documentation related to the data they manage.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science,
information systems, data engineering, or a related field is a plus.
2+ years of experience in data
governance, data management, or a related technical role.
Experience working with metadata
management tools and data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra,
Atlas, Informatica).
Proven experience with data quality
management and implementation of data quality controls.
Experience working in a highly regulated
industry such as iGaming is a plus.
Proficiency in data management tools and
metadata platforms, with experience administering and maintaining
metadata repositories.
Strong knowledge of SQL, data modelling,
and data architecture principles.
Familiarity with data quality tools and
methodologies, including data validation and profiling.
Understanding of data governance
frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Familiarity with data privacy
regulations, including GDPR, and data security standards.
Strong attention to detail and a passion
for ensuring high standards of data quality.
Excellent communication and
collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
with business, tech, and data engineering teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and
priorities in a fast-paced environment.

proactive approach to identifying and resolving data issues.
