This role of Workplace Manager is responsible for the overall success of a Rippling-managed site, overseeing daily operations and driving strategic workplace initiatives. Key responsibilities include leading and developing teams, establishing office policies and programs, and ensuring a productive and engaging environment for employees and stakeholders. The role requires balancing frugality with business needs to develop workplace solutions that boost productivity and support company growth. The manager will also oversee site leadership, operational excellence, process development, and people management, including mentoring staff and resolving conflicts.

About the role

As a Workplace Manager, you will be responsible for the total success of a Rippling-managed site, overseeing day-to-day operations while driving strategic workplace initiatives. You will lead and grow teams, develop office policies and programs, and ensure that employees and senior stakeholders experience a high-functioning, efficient, and engaging workplace environment. Balancing frugality with business needs, you will develop workplace solutions that enhance productivity, support company growth, and align with Rippling’s leadership principles.


This role is based in our New York office Monday-Friday with occasional flexibility to work remotely.


What you will do

Site Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead all workplace functions for a 400+ employee office, ensuring operational excellence and proactive issue resolution.
  • Develop and execute office growth strategies, including space planning, occupancy management, and policy development.
  • Guide leaders and employees through sensitive workplace changes, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Partner with senior leadership to set strategic priorities for workplace experience and office standards.
  • Influence and manage budgets effectively, maintaining cost-conscious decision-making while advocating for business needs.

Operational Excellence & Workplace Programs

  • Oversee and refine office operations (e.g., F&B programs, procurement, vendor management, and office supplies).
  • Own food & beverage program management, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and service performance.
  • Develop and maintain workplace policies, including visitor registration, security access (Brivo), and workplace safety.
  • Partner with teams like ENG/AV, Marketing, and IT to ensure seamless collaboration and execution of office programs.
  • Partner with the Workplace IT Manager to ensure the health and maintenance of workplace AV systems.

Process Development & Leadership

  • Establish clear, scalable internal processes for workplace operations, ensuring alignment with Rippling’s business goals.
  • Create comprehensive workplace documentation to enhance self-sufficiency and streamline employee experiences.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making, leveraging occupancy reports, feedback, and workplace analytics.
  • Address challenges that require detailed analysis and creative problem-solving, even in ambiguous situations.

People Management & Leadership Development

  • Directly manage and mentor Workplace Coordinators and vendors, ensuring high performance and team cohesion.
  • Develop team members by identifying key success factors and implementing targeted growth plans.
  • Navigate and resolve team conflicts fairly, fostering a high-trust and high-performance culture.
  • Influence employees to adopt a self-service mindset, effectively communicating office policies and workplace expectations.
  • Debate workplace policy using qualitative and quantitative data, commit to executive decisions, and mitigate risks.


What you will need

  • 4+ years of Workplace or Facilities experience, 2+ years of people management experience
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including skilled individual contributors and vendors.
  • Strong strategic and operational expertise in managing office environments, programs, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, earning trust from senior leadership and guiding employees through workplace changes.
  • Highly adaptable, able to “unlearn” traditional corporate real estate models and embrace Rippling’s agile approach.
  • Experience making data-driven workplace decisions, balancing qualitative insights with quantitative analysis.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, able to manage complex projects and competing priorities with minimal oversight.

This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with the range below based on location; Tier 1 - San Francisco Bay Area/New York City Metro.
