API Developer

We’re currently seeking an API Developer for an exciting 12-month contract opportunity with a leading financial information and analytics company. This fully remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge generative AI platform within a collaborative, innovative environment.

As an API Developer, you’ll join the Data Science team to design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for AI-driven applications. You will play a hands-on role in shaping the platform’s architecture, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems, and supporting the deployment of AI and machine learning models at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of a generative AI platform, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems.
• Act as a hands-on developer and architect, creating scalable solutions for AI-driven applications.
• Demonstrate technical leadership and deep expertise in generative AI technologies and cloud architecture.
• Drive full-stack development for AI products, including custom architecture for AI/ML pipelines, data ingestion, preprocessing, and scaled AI model compute.
• Ensure platform scalability and reliability, managing infrastructure for AI, ML, GenAI, and LLM products.
• Lead the development, integration, and testing of scalable APIs to enhance platform functionality.
• Implement monitoring systems to track model performance, data quality, and infrastructure health, and optimize system efficiency.
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers to integrate machine learning models into production systems.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure technical milestones align with business requirements.
• Implement security measures and comply with industry standards for platform and API governance.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance to foster their professional growth.
• Maintain documentation and architecture blueprints for platform strategy and operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience in platform development and deployment at the scale of large enterprises.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and system architecture.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly in AI/ML development.
• Proficient in Python, with strong knowledge of programming languages and frameworks such as Kubernetes, Serverless, and cloud PaaS.
• Experience in integrating, evaluating, and deploying scalable full-stack solutions and APIs, including front-end technologies like React, Vue, or Angular JS.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow or similar).
• Deep understanding of Generative AI principles (e.g., prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning).
• Preferred: Experience in full-stack engineering for deep learning and LLM solutions.
• Preferred: Contributions to open-source projects or involvement in research initiatives.
