Logitech seeks an Audio/Acoustic Engineer for a 1-year contract (potential for permanent conversion) to contribute to their video collaboration product line. Responsibilities include evaluating hardware/software components, ensuring quality and test-driven development, tuning acoustics/audio for certifications, prototyping for future projects, and defining technology plans. The role demands expertise in audio streaming, new digital communication standards, audio algorithm evaluation, and real-time audio system analysis. Collaboration with product managers, automation of audio tests, and understanding of transducers, audio ICs, acoustics, and embedded processors are crucial. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a passion for innovation in audio technology.
Must have:
  • 1+ year experience in audio/acoustic measurement methods
  • Experience defining, tuning, and testing real-time audio algorithms
  • Proficiency in objective/subjective audio test methodologies
  • Experience with audio equipment (B&K/HEAD Acoustics, etc.)
  • Experience automating audio tests using Python, C/C++
Good to have:
  • Video conferencing experience
  • Experience with MATLAB, C, Python
  • Experience with scripting and audio data plotting/analysis

  • The Acoustic/Audio engineer is responsible for evaluating critical hardware/software components, with high emphasis on quality, test-driven development, and tune acoustic/audio to pass certifications.

  • You enjoy working on early release components and influencing technology roadmaps.

  • You will help prototype and join the defining technology plans for future projects.

  • You will have practical knowledge of audio streaming processing techniques and approaches for realtime communications.

  • You will have a passion to work on new and disruptive techniques such as new digital communication standards, concepts for audio streaming, and evaluation of world-class audio algorithms.

  • Take ownership of evaluating critical software components, with high emphasis on quality, test-driven development, and sound software engineering practices 

  • Analyze, define, measure, tune, and certify real-time audio systems for forward looking products and user experiences.

  • Automate the general audio test sequences for evaluating the critical speech processing features.

  • Evaluate and benchmark third party solution/products audio performance.

  • You will have experience in designing, creating, and delivering shipping products based on your knowledge of microphones, acoustics, and speakers in the field of audio processing.

  • Work closely with product managers to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed and implemented components.

  • Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies.

  • Generate novel, innovative solutions to some of the toughest problems in audio

Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • 1+ years of experience in the field of audio/acoustic measurement methods, including speaker codec/amplifier, microphone codec, PDM microphone and speaker.

  • 1+ years experience defining, tuning and testing efficient real-time audio algorithms

  • Proven experience of objective and subjective audio test methodologies and standards, e.g. Microsoft Teams, ZoomRooms, Google CFM,...and etc.

  • Proven experience with Audio Equipment including B&K/HEAD Acoustics HATS, HEAD Acoustics  ACQUA test system, Listen SoundCheck, Audio Precision,....and etc.

  • Proven experience with automating audio tests using Python, C/C++, or other language.

  • Demonstrated understanding of how audio systems work including transducers, audio ICs, acoustics, embedded processors

  • Demonstrated communication skills and experience working across disciplines to drive optimal solutions

  • Demonstrated understanding of speaker/speaker module developing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of acoustic simulation software, ex, COMSOL, lumped methodology. 

  • Demonstrated understanding IIR, FIR, Echo Control, Multi mic noise reduction, Microphone Beamforming, AGC, MBDRC, Psycho Acoustic Bass, Microphone and Speaker Arrays
  • Demonstrated understanding of Acoustics and Consumer Audio EE Architecture

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and neural network implementation

  • Knowledge of telecommunication standards

  • Knowledge of human perception of audio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous video conferencing experience 
  • Automation experience is a plus: MATLAB, C, Python

  • Ability to read and understand hardware and acoustic design

  • Experience with scripting and audio data plotting and analysis
