Flexera is seeking a passionate and hands-on Automation Team Lead to drive quality through intelligent automation. This role is responsible for the quality and efficiency of automation tests for various products and components, using a Java-based and Selenium automated framework. The lead will define and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy for complex services, lead the development of automated test code for maximum coverage and efficiency, and mentor junior engineers. Responsibilities include collaborating with development leads, tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, analyzing test results, identifying bugs, and ensuring timely issue resolution. The ideal candidate will stay updated on the latest test automation trends.

We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Automation Team Lead to join our growing engineering team and drive quality through intelligent automation.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for the quality and efficiency of the Automation tests covering our products and components.

You will be expected to come up with initiatives regarding QA methodology, Automation infrastructure modules, and development processes. Our Java-based and selenium Automated framework covers various aspects of the product, including complex interfaces, data integrity, and advanced business logic.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage and build a small automation team.

  • Define and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy for complex services

  • Lead the development of automated test code, ensuring they achieve maximum test coverage and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with software development leads to identify key areas for automation and prioritize test cases while managing dependencies.

  • Mentor and guide test automation engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Track the progress of test automation development, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and implement solutions to meet excellent quality of our products

  • Analyze test results, identify bugs, and work with developers to resolve them effectively, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution within sprint constraints

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in test automation technologies.


Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience implementing automated tests for multi-layered products in cloud environment.

  • 2+ years as a team leader.

  • Academic degree in Computer science or ISTQB or similar certification in testing or quality engineering.

  • Experience shipping high-quality software product releases to a production cloud environment (CI/CD)

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and cloud cost management tools.

  • Experience with Backend automation, Jenkins, Kubernetes, cloud and container environment

  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies

  • Strong cross-group collaboration and interpersonal skills working with a variety of roles including engineering, product management, and support

  • Ability to work in a dynamic multi-task environment.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to ML/AI systems and the challenges of testing dynamic, data-driven applications.

  • Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and performance/load testing (e.g., JMeter, k6).
