Netflix seeks a Cash Application Specialist in Manila to join its Treasury Accounting Team. This crucial role involves accurately applying incoming payments, reconciling cash receipts, identifying process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing reports, resolving discrepancies, and supporting monthly close activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting principles understanding, excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include ensuring timely and precise allocation of payments, identifying process inefficiencies, working with billing and collections teams, preparing reports on cash application activities, resolving payment discrepancies, and supporting monthly accounting activities.

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our first Cash Application Specialist position in Manila as part of the Treasury Accounting Team within Controllership. This role is a key addition to our global finance team, focusing on the efficient management of cash application processes and treasury accounting functions.

Based in our Manila office, this position will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our cash management activities. The successful candidate will collaborate with teams across different time zones, including our US and international offices, to drive process improvements and maintain strong financial controls. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


 

Responsibilities

  • Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts, ensuring timely and precise allocation

  • Reconcile daily cash receipts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in cash application procedures

  • Work closely with the billing, collections, and finance teams to ensure accurate and efficient cash application processes

  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on cash application activities and account statuses

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues related to cash application and account discrepancies

  • Communicate with customers to resolve payment discrepancies and answer inquiries related to account balances

  • Support monthly accounting close activities as needed

  • Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks to support new initiatives and contribute to the organization’s goals

  • Open to work during regular business hours, with flexibility to slide shifts/work overtime to certain critical business periods.

  • Able to work with high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Open to change and able to adapt quickly to new processes and technologies

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality

  • Exemplifies the Netflix culture

Education & Experience

  • Accounting or Finance background

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Degree in a relevant field of study

  • Experience at a Global company a plus

  • Experience using a cash applications tool (High Radius is a plus)
