Job Description

As a Construction Program Manager at Google Data Centers, you'll manage data center projects from inception to completion, overseeing all phases including concept, design, construction, and deployment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project momentum. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing internal requirements, translating them into effective solutions, and clearly communicating project updates to leadership. You'll need strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex construction challenges and develop creative, cost-effective solutions. This role is critical in bringing Google's data centers to life, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget while meeting high quality and efficiency standards.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in relevant technical areas (electrical, mechanical systems etc.)
  • 2+ years experience in data center construction projects
  • 2+ years in program/project management
  • Excellent communication & problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • 5+ years experience with mission-critical equipment
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Knowledge of fast-track design-build processes
  • Knowledge of large-scale facility systems

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, mechanical systems, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber.
  • 2 years of experience working with technical teams on data center or mission-critical facility construction projects.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with mission-critical equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and a strong understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build processes.
  • Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and achieve objectives within defined goals.

In this role, you will play a key part in bringing data centers to life. You will manage various aspects of data center projects, from initial concept and design through to construction and deployment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget while meeting high standards for quality and efficiency.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
