Summary:
Goldbelt C6, LLC., is seeking a Data Scientist to provide information management support services to the CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP). This support is to help enhance infection control practices and ensure related and interdependent functions and disciplines are incorporated throughout tasks to contribute to achieving DHQP’s mission and program goals.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Utilizes advanced data science methods and software (e.g., SAS, RStudio, Python) to wrangle, analyze, and interpret epidemiological and other public health data.
- Draws on significant work experience as a data manager (e.g., 3 years), manages complex datasets and develop data workflows to automate routine functions.
- Utilize appropriate GIS software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, RStudio) for the geocoding and application of location-based analytics.
- Link CDC HAI/AR Program data to other complex index, CMS quality scores, etc.) for routine and ad hoc analysis.
- Develop and manage data integration system that allow users to move data from different sources between on-premises and cloud systems.
- Provide general information systems and informatics support to DHQP and health department partners, utilizing strong verbal written communications skills to advance partnerships and project goals.
- Supports data management, surveillance, and analytic projects, including creating change logs, developing data dictionaries, completing variable mapping projects, and providing data entry support.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in creating tables and charts for presentations and coordinating meetings.
- Knowledge of surveillance data, data visualization, and data integration.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse set of government and commercial stakeholders on technical contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, teamwork, management, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to derive innovative solutions to complex problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, or related field OR with at least 4 years of related experience OR a master’s degree in a related field with 2 years of related experience, or high school diploma/equivalent with at least 8 years of related and demonstrated work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in data analysis building and managing databases, and data visualization.
- Highly proficient data visualization tools; specifically, Power BI.
- Highly proficient data analysis tools; specifically, REDCap.
- Highly proficient using various statistical software (SAS, R, R Shiny, etc.)
- Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, or related field.
- Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $115,000.00 annually.
