As a Database Administrator, you will manage huge data sets and be involved in installation, configuration, optimization, automation, backup, recovery, upgrades, and schema changes. You will utilize your experience in production, development, and QA/test environments, and participate in long-term planning, tool development, and architectural discussions. The role requires you to dive into the database infrastructure and be a go-to resource for the team. This role involves varied work and the opportunity to contribute to complex database implementations.

Must have:

Senior level experience with database administration - Postgres.
Proficient in at least one scripting language - Ruby, Python, Perl, JavaScript, etc.
Experience working on a Unix/Unix-like platform - Linux preferred.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
Experience to Shard and scale out large database.
Apply data modeling techniques.
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.

Job Description
Tackle an engaging and challenging position as a Database Administrator at Caramel Tech Studios. If you're an experienced DBA who has an interest in learning and a desire to help drive complex database implementations in unique ways, this is your chance.

In this role, you will come up with new ideas for how to best manage huge data sets and have varied work. As a Database Administrator, your mission will be to dive into our database infrastructure. You will be on the team responsible for installation, configuration, optimization, automation, backup, recovery, upgrades, schema changes, and everything else.

Your experience with production, development, and QA/test environments will be put to use as you become one of our go-to database resources. As a senior member of our team you'll also be involved in long-term planning, tool development (which will include developing more complex automation scripts) and architectural discussions and decisions.

Required Skills

Senior level experience with database administration - Postgres.
experience preferred, but not required.
Proficient in at least one scripting language - Ruby, Python, Perl, JavaScript, etc.
Experience working on a Unix/Unix-like platform â€“ Linux preferred.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

Experience with AWS.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Experience to Shard and scale out large database.
Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
