As the Business Continuity Governance Director, you will lead and oversee the assessment, design, and implementation of business continuity governance, ensuring the organization's ability to respond to and recover from disruptions. You will provide strategic guidance to the team, foster a culture of excellence, evaluate controls, conduct risk assessments, drive business transformation, optimize business continuity efforts, and protect against emerging threats. Responsibilities include assessing business processes, developing and implementing governance frameworks, collaborating with teams to address risks, monitoring plans, identifying risks, staying updated on industry trends, and facilitating training. The position reports to the Risk Governance Senior Director.

Job Description

As the Business Continuity Governance Director, you will assume a leadership role in the development of relevant governance frameworks and processes to support enterprise-wide business continuity efforts. You will provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to assess, design, implement, and maintain effective business continuity practices. This includes leading the development of tools and training to enable effective planning by the business. You will contribute to developing business continuity governance plans, target operating models, and strategies to continuously improve program effectiveness. You will oversee the delivery and reporting of the organization's business continuity capabilities, ensuring transparency and accountability in our resilience efforts. Position reports to Risk Governance Senior Director.

  • Evaluating controls and conducting in-depth risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies.
  • Driving the organization's business transformation initiatives, navigating complexities, managing risk effectively, and ensuring the continuity of critical operations.
  • Optimizing business continuity efforts, enhancing program effectiveness, and protecting against emerging threats to business operations.
  • Collaborating with professionals across functions to address risks holistically, ensuring resilience and compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee thorough assessments of critical business processes and dependencies, including risk profiling and impact analyses.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive business continuity governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and address risks associated with business continuity across various domains (e.g., technology, operations, supply chain).
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of business continuity plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks and issues related to business continuity, providing recommendations for risk mitigation and control enhancement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in business continuity governance, incorporating best practices into the organization's program.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to internal stakeholders on business continuity governance matters, promoting awareness and understanding of continuity planning principles.
  • Facilitate training and awareness sessions for employees on business continuity governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulators during audits and examinations related to business continuity governance.
  • Continuously improve and enhance the organization's business continuity governance program through process optimization, automation, and innovation.

The expected salary range for this role is $168,350 – $218,860 per year

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of managerial experience in risk management
  • Leading and executing complex business continuity-related projects within an organization, demonstrating expertise in implementation, design, and execution.
  • Deep understanding of industry practices and regulations related to business continuity governance, enabling the development of effective programs and conducting comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with common business continuity issues in relevant industry sectors, facilitating the identification and mitigation of organization-specific risks.
  • Proficient in conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data, providing valuable insights for decision-making and risk management strategies.
  • Strong ability to develop and implement tailored business continuity governance frameworks, leveraging technology tools and creative problem-solving skills to drive effective solutions within the organization.
