Summary

Wizards of the Coast is seeking a Director of Publishing Production to lead and manage the publishing production team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth production and delivery of digital gaming products, particularly within the Internal Studios. Key responsibilities include building and mentoring the production team, optimizing workflows, collaborating with other production verticals, fostering a collaborative culture, managing project deliverables and budgets, identifying risks and solutions, and driving process improvement. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in video game production, including both development and publishing, as well as strong leadership and management skills.
Must have:
  • 10+ years in video game production management

  • Expertise in console, PC and mobile game development

Wizards is searching for a hardworking, resourceful and highly experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Publishing Production, with a focus on our Internal Studios. This position is central to our Publishing efforts and will be key in crafting Wizards of the Coast’s ambitions, in particular within our Digital Gaming Portfolio endeavors (Internal, External, Licensed).

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Build, manage and mentor our Publishing Production team members: this group will be the publishing relay to our internal development teams, and act as champions for assigned projects.
  • Develop strategies to optimize workflows and support for our Internal Studios: anticipate and remove roadblocks.
  • Ensure optimal collaboration with other Production verticals within Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro, most notably with External/Joint Venture and Licensed opportunities.
  • Foster a strong culture of collaboration across internal (across Departments, Units and Companies) and external partners (vendors, strategic partners, etc.).
  • Ensure Wizards’ Digital Gaming portfolio is tracked and managed optimally, with clear escalation paths and consistent care.
  • Work across our organization to establish projects’ deliverables and associated budgets.
  • Never complacent, you are always on the lookout for risks to mitigate and solutions to be found: identifying areas of improvement to evolve our processes, methods, and practices.

 

What You'll Bring: 

  • 10+ years in production management in the video game industry, with a good mix of development and publishing experience.
  • 5+ years managing and mentoring teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of development, production and publishing pipelines and interdependencies, including familiarity with various project management methodologies.
  • Console, PC, Mobile development & production expertise.
  • Strong familiarity with multiple business models: traditional retail (digital & physical), F2P, GaaS, etc.
  • Good knowledge of global publishing frameworks.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, fundamentally curious and possessing an innovative spirit that drives exploration and brings about new ways of doing things.
  • Ability to influence change, anticipate roadblocks and find creative solutions to mitigate or remove them.
  • Appreciation and ability to adapt communications to varied audiences: from junior Team Members to Executive level, from Artists to Engineers, from Business to Localization, etc.
  • Flexible and adaptable. Patient and diplomatic.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD: 

  • Starting Pay Range: $165,000
  • Pay Range End: $306,500
