Job Description
The Swift Platform Experience organization is seeking an experienced Leader to head the SwiftUI team. This role involves overseeing multiple sub-teams, managing internal deliverables, and providing guidance and alignment to numerous teams across Apple. The SwiftUI team is involved in developing the SwiftUI framework for app development, widgets, and live activities. They also work on the Controls framework for Lock Screen buttons and Control Center, AttributeGraph and RenderBox frameworks that underpin SwiftUI and other technologies, and the Swift Charts framework for displaying complex graphs and charts across Apple platforms. The leader will direct the strategic and tactical path of these frameworks, ensuring a leading-edge developer experience for Apple platforms. This position requires a seasoned leader with a strong iOS software development background, preferably with significant UI framework development experience. Responsibilities include shaping the team, managing sub-teams, fostering partnerships with cross-functional teams, and driving the strategic direction of declarative UI development.

The Swift Platform Experience organization is looking for an experienced Leader to lead the SwiftUI team. This person will oversee multiple sub-teams with responsibility both for internal team deliverables and for providing guidance, support, and alignment to many other teams across Apple. The SwiftUI team is responsible for a wide range of activities, including the development of: the SwiftUI framework, both for app development and for other technologies like widgets and live activities the Controls framework, which enables integration with features like Lock Screen buttons and Control Center the AttributeGraph and RenderBox frameworks, which provide infrastructure on which SwiftUI and other technologies rely the Swift Charts framework, supporting the display of complex graphs and charts across Apple’s platforms
The role includes responsibility for overseeing the strategic and tactical direction of these frameworks and related technologies, ensuring the experience of developing apps for Apple’s platforms with these key technologies remains at the leading edge. A successful candidate will be a seasoned leader with a strong background in iOS software development, ideally with substantial experience in UI framework development as well. You will be responsible for overseeing the shape of the team itself, managing multiple individual sub-teams, ensuring successful partnership with multiple cross-functional teams, and driving the strategic direction of declarative UI development for Apple’s platforms. The ability to lead a large group of senior engineers while providing strategic guidance, making critical decisions, and managing external stakeholder expectations will be crucial to the team’s success.
