Game Designer

We are a mobile game company, based in both Helsinki and Berlin, creating world-class entertainment by building a portfolio of hit games. Since our launch in 2020, our first chart-topping game Merge Mansion has been entertaining over 60 million players worldwide, and we have grown into a team of over 250.

We are looking for an experienced Game Designer to take ownership of designing game features from concept to implementation and managing the game economy of Merge Mansion.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of designing game features from concept to implementation
• Following through on features to ensure they work as designed and achieve the expected impact once live
• Documenting and communicating feature designs and intentions with the rest of the team
• Designing, modeling, monitoring, and balancing complex game economy systems, ensuring that the game experience is fun and engaging
• Ensuring that every system in the game is tuned and works seamlessly together with the rest
• Being the go-to person for questions about new features, existing designs, or an ongoing in-game event
• Working closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to align design solutions with business goals and user needs
• Collaborating with other team members, such as Artists, Programmers, Story, and Project Managers to implement and iterate on features and content based on goals
• Facilitating brainstorming with other team members and designers to collect more input and pick best design ideas available

Requirements

• Extensive experience in game design, game systems, and balancing game economies in a live game
• Clear understanding of free to play games and how their game economies work
• Strong sensitivity to gameplay and game design which makes you uniquely skilled in building needs and emotions in the context of a game
• Logical thinker with strong attention to detail. Working with numbers and analyzing data is your second nature, and spreadsheet is a go-to in your toolkit
• Ability to communicate game concepts in a strong and concise way
• Programming or scripting skills are a bonus
