Job Summary

Inkitt is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build, maintain, and scale their platform powering a rapidly growing global audience. Must have experience with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React, Docker, and Sidekiq. Experience with CI pipelines, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and SQL/NoSQL is a plus.

What You’ll Do:

Architect, build, iterate, and manage backend services that powers global Inkitt Platform
Develop API contracts, create documentation, and support application team in developing against those APIs
Build the frontend of applications through appealing visual design
Build and ship new features at high velocity and high quality
Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to achieve product goals
Contribute your ideas to the product's roadmap
Drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class user experience
Continuously explore new technologies that will elevate the user experience of customers in order to be at the forefront of a rapidly changing digital environment

What You'll Bring:

5+ years of professional software development experience within various back-end infrastructures
Expertise in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and React
Experience with using Docker and Sidekiq, while any experience with building CI pipelines, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Kafka, or RabbitMQ is a plus
Strong working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caches, and CDNs
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with other teams, while experience mentoring juniors is a plus
A drive to raise the bar of the team on Code Quality, User Empathy, and Delivery Speed
