Job Description

This 12-month graduate program offers technical scripting training and on-the-job coaching to support research teams across Europe, USA, Middle East, and APAC. Responsibilities include scripting questionnaires accurately and on time using bespoke software, testing survey logic for errors, managing workloads to meet deadlines, maintaining accurate work records, and ensuring all reporting requests are met accurately and punctually. The program aims to develop logical and programming skills, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and the company's scripting platform, Gryphon (Python). Upon successful performance review, there's an opportunity for a permanent role.

Here’s a summary of the role:    

Operations provide support to research teams in Europe, the USA, the Middle East and APAC, enabling them to offer quality consultancy on a wide variety of topics.  You will be part of Scripting team which strives to produce accurate results every time and supports the rest of the company in delivering innovative and robust research solutions. 

Our 12-month graduate programme gives you the opportunity to gain technical scripting training alongside on the job coaching from a range of mentors, you will receive further support from our People Experience and Development team. There will be an opportunity to join us permanent at the end, basis performance review. 

 

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):  

  • To provide scripting services for researchers to aid them in their client relationships 
  • To take questionnaires from researchers and script them using YouGov’s bespoke scripting software in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Testing survey logic to ensure that it is error free. 
  • Management of own workload to ensure that deadlines are met, and standards are achieved. 
  • To maintain excellent record administration to have an accurate log of work carried out as part of the service. 
  • To ensure all reporting and management requests are accurate and delivered on time 

 

During your programme, you will receive the following from us: 

  • Learnings about market research general workflow 
  • Understanding the mechanism of an online survey and how to work with questionnaires 
  • Learnings about what type of questions you can find in a questionnaire 
  • Developing your logical and programming skills 
  • Developing your web design coding: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery 
  • Training in creating online surveys and in using our scripting platform: Gryphon (Python) 
  • Learnings about Scripting best-practices 

 

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:  

What do I need to bring with me? 

  • Fluent in English 
  • Familiarity with any computer language (eg. C, C++, C#, Python, Java etc.). Represents advantage knowledge in web-design coding (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery) 
  • Degree in an IT-based subject, or evidence of a similar level of computer skills 
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office
