Company Description

Signal Space Lab is an interactive creation studio in Montreal, QC in Canada specializing in immersive XR entertainment, video games, and audio production. Our goal is to advance in the art of interactive media by imaging and producing original, innovative, and memorable experiences that materialized into sounds, visuals, and gaming environments.

Job Description

We are now on the lookout for a motivated Level Designer who thinks differently about entertainment, interactivity, and reality in general. ‍‍

SKILLS

  • Expertise with the Unreal Video game engine.
  • Strong scripting ability (Blueprint). 
  • Strong Environment/Layout creation and iteration skills. 
  • Ability to design and implement missions and objectives.

Qualifications

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain high quality Level Design and Mission Design Documents 
  • Creating level layouts from gray block geometry to polished form. 
  • Using the Unreal Blueprint tools to script triggers, combat, stealth gameplay, objectives and scripted events. 
  • Work closely with other designers and programmers/artists/animators.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of game/level design experience plus a record of designing levels for successful, published software products. 
  • Experience as a level designer for published PC and/or Digital console titles.
  • Experience developing levels for turn-based games or cover-based shooters a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and adapt concepts based on feedback and round table discussion

  • Work-life balance! Normal hours: 9:00am—5:00pm, with some flexibility (for overseas time zones).
