As a Junior Tax Accountant, you will be part of a six-person tax department primarily responsible for non-income-based taxes and other regulatory filings. You will also gain exposure to state, local, and federal income taxation. Your responsibilities include preparing and filing sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions in the US and Canada, analyzing and reconciling sales tax liability accounts, researching and monitoring states for changes in sales tax regulations, preparing and filing property tax returns, annual reports, and business licenses, and assisting with audits by state tax authorities. You will also perform technical tax research, collaborate with finance and sales teams, identify process improvement opportunities, and assist with the preparation of workpapers for tax returns.
