Job Description

This role focuses on monitoring and evaluating service shop metrics, developing and administering training programs, and identifying and analyzing defect modes. The Lead Quality Specialist will also coordinate requests from Engineering and Fleet Program Managers, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement. They will implement process controls, champion Six Sigma, and lead customer quality improvement activities. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to ensure a true quality culture is implemented within the organization.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Mathematics
  • At least 3 years of experience in relevant roles
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Legal authorization to work in Kazakhstan
  • Intermediate level of English language proficiency
Good to have:
  • Six Sigma or ISO certification
  • Experience in ISO implementation
  • Technical knowledge of GE Evolution series locomotives

Essential Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate service shop metrics such as repeaters, availability, workscope application, etc.
  • Develop and administer training programs as required to GE Transportation and service shop craft personnel.
  • Identify, monitor and analyze defect modes to develop action plans to address defects.
  • Coordinate Engineering and Fleet Program Manager requests at service shop locations for information collection or tests.
  • Conduct audits and monitor actions to address identified issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement across key business objectives.
  • Develop and implement process controls.
  • Drive and implement a true quality culture into the organization.
  • Champion the use of Six Sigma in problem solving and work closely with Quality Leader to drive quality process.
  • Lead the customer external quality improvement activities. Review and update Playbooks and work scopes as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or Mathematics from an accredited university.
  • At least 3 years of experience in operations/heavy equipment maintenance/quality roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Kazakhstan.
  • Knowledge of English language at least at intermediate level (lots of written communication in English).
  • Six Sigma or ISO certification will be a plus. Experience in ISO implementation.
  • Technical knowledge of the GE Evolution series locomotives will be a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work across multiple levels in the organization both inside GE Transportation and at customer/partner level.
  • Self-starter.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
