Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist

Position Summary:

The Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of inbound inventory, from factory to distribution center. This includes strategic procurement via Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, optimizing transportation, and coordinating production planning with external factories. This role requires proactive problem-solving to address and resolve supply chain disruptions swiftly and transparently.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Generate and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system, specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Oversee and optimize inbound domestic and international transportation of goods from manufacturing facilities to our distribution center.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and negotiation with logistics partners for imported goods.
  • Collaborate closely with product development and international factories to coordinate specialized requirements, including ticketing and packaging.
  • Proactively monitor and communicate with logistics providers to ensure the timely delivery of all shipments.
  • Independently analyze demand schedules to recommend and implement optimal transportation methods for goods.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and the e-commerce team to communicate and align on first-in-stock dates for new product launches.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of inventory levels, considering both sales forecasts and incoming receipts.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support efficient supply chain operations.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Proven experience with international import operations, including managing the transportation of goods from overseas.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and visualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to compile, chart, and analyze complex data for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and decisive with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Skilled negotiator and advocate, exhibiting tactfulness and tenacity to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to apply an organized and systematic approach to procurement activities, effectively prioritize assignments, maintain meticulous attention to detail, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Highly energetic, takes initiative, accepts accountability, and consistently demonstrates decisiveness, honesty, and integrity.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Supply Chain Management, or similar field required
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, or logistics role.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Office Environment
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
