Job Description

The Manager of Controlling will lead internal elements of FP&A for Sales & Services. Responsibilities include organizing and supporting long-term business plans, coordinating the annual budgeting process, forecasting and monitoring financial and non-financial KPIs, creating and maintaining internal reporting, preparing financial analysis, and supporting accounting during quarterly and annual closures. Additional tasks include developing close working relationships with internal customers, providing decision support, and consulting on financials and strategy.
Must have:
  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Finance in global companies.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and financial planning tools.
  • Knowledge of Business Objects and SAP.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting standards.
  • Ready to travel globally.

Job Summary:

The Manager of Controlling will lead internal elements of FP&A for Sales & Services at Adtran.

Planning & Monitoring

  • Organization and support of long-term business plans
  • Organization and coordination of annual budgeting process in respective Executive area
  • Monthly forecasting and monitoring of actual development and deviations of relevant financial and non-financial KPIs

Reporting & Closure

  • Creation, maintenance and continuous improvement of internal reporting for department owners and Executive
  • Preparation of standard and ad-hoc analysis, presentations and documents for all organizational levels
  • Support Accounting with quarterly and annual closure including audit preparation

Systems & Processes

  • Database and system updates and key-user for planning and reporting systems
  • Maintenance of job relevant master data in SAP
  • Further development and optimization of departmental tools and processes
  • Drive and support special finance and related projects, scenarios and analysis

Supplementary Tasks:

  • Develop close working relationships with internal customers and colleagues
  • Active decision support including the flagging of challenges, problem & risk management, continuous analysis regarding improvements and related measures
  • Consulting and coaching of internal customers (processes, SWOT analyses including proposals how to manage weaknesses and leverage potentials, as well as explaining financials and essential strategy/ tactics/ processes)
  • Financial support for all other relevant topics

Qualification / Experience

  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
