Job Summary

The Manager of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with a focus on AWS and Azure is responsible for leading a team of SREs in designing, building, and maintaining reliable cloud-based infrastructure. This role involves optimizing system performance, ensuring high availability, and enhancing the security of the cloud environments. The Manager works closely with development, operations, and security teams to drive improvements in operational efficiency and establish best practices for cloud infrastructure management. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in AWS and Azure environments, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of modern SRE principles.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Site Reliability Engineers to ensure optimal performance and career growth. Establish team goals and objectives aligned with the company’s strategic vision. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the SRE team.
  • Partner in the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure in AWS and Azure, adhering to SRE best practices. Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of the cloud environments. Collaborate with architecture and development teams to design cloud solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Implement and refine monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to detect and respond to incidents proactively. Develop and enforce SRE best practices, including automation of repetitive tasks and incident response processes. Manage capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies for cloud resources.
  • Demonstrate a degree of business knowledge within the general financial services domain. Strive to influence the team to generate support to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Cultivate relationships across roles and organizations to maximize collaboration, partnership, and efficiency. Provide feedback formally and informally. Request and utilize feedback to foster personal development. Advocate for SRE practices and drive adoption across the organization.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in IT.
  • 3+ years of SRE/DevOps experience.
  • 3+ years of development experience.
  • 3+ years direct leadership experience.

Work Environment

  • Normal Office Environment, hybrid. 24/7 On-call coverage; may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and possibly holidays.


Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 20% Annually
