Equities: Specializes in delivering customized equity portfolio solutions tailored to meet each client’s unique investment objectives, risk tolerance, and preferences. By combining fundamental research, quantitative insights, and disciplined portfolio construction, the team aims to generate long-term value while aligning closely with client mandates (e.g., tax management, factor investing, model implementation, ESG management and other quantitatively driven strategies).
Overlay Services: Responsible for implementing strategic and tactical overlays, our team assists clients in managing risk, optimizing asset allocation, and maintaining target exposures across complex multi-asset portfolios. Utilizing derivatives and other instruments, we provide customized solutions tailored to the needs of large institutional investors (e.g., cash equitization, synthetic rebalancing, portable alpha, downside protection, liability hedging).
As a Portfolio Manager (PM), you will be responsible for managing a set of investment portfolios and assisting the broader team with all aspects of portfolio management, portfolio implementation, portfolio analysis, client development, and support. You will also be directly responsible for managing investment portfolios and may provide support to other Portfolio Managers within the team.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management
Design, implement, and manage portfolios that incorporate a broad mix of asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, private markets, real assets, hedge funds, derivatives, and/or cash).
Tracking cash flows and other asset movements associated with client portfolios and implementing and/or recommending changes.
Working closely with clients and internal resources (including derivatives trading group, FX team, quantitative research team, and transition managers) to design and recommend strategies for hedging various unintended exposures including the use of exchange traded and OTC instruments.
Working closely with other team members to launch new clients. This includes finalizing investment strategy, ensuring contracting is completed, and the client's portfolio is set up properly.
Reporting results to clients including analyzing portfolio performance against benchmarks.
Client Service
Develop a close working relationship with clients and in-depth knowledge of their portfolios and any changes that occur. Become a "go-to" resource for each client, particularly with regards to implementing their investment ideas by focusing on methods that reduce cost and risk.
Meeting with clients to gain a better understanding of the challenges they face and work with the rest of the team to evaluate the potential for new business opportunities to solve the client's challenges and improve the performance of their portfolio.
Enhancing our value proposition to improve clients’ understanding and expectations through refreshed communications.
Product and Process Expert
Working closely with internal resources to design and recommend strategies for atypical situations (e.g., prospect/client wants to understand pros/cons of various approaches to rebalancing or implementing a major asset allocation shift).
Collaborating with other functional and product areas to improve coordination and integration in delivering services to clients.
Working closely with a Portfolio Analyst team in training/mentoring.
Leading projects to investigate and test new ideas. This may include identifying innovative solutions, working with internal and external resources to evaluate these ideas, and drafting position papers and presentations to document findings.
Working with technology resources to develop and test tools to more efficiently manage and monitor portfolios.
Your Expertise:
4-6 years of experience with institutional investing, asset management, trading, and the portfolio management process.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field. (or equivalent experience)
Certifications: CFA or progress towards charter preferred.
Understanding of the investment landscape, including asset allocation, risk management, and the interaction between public and private markets.
Proven track record of strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Investment decision making skills; financial analysis, strategic and theoretical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, unstructured work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
Skills for innovation and high tolerance for change, complexity, and unpredictability.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Proficiency with investment tools such as Bloomberg, Excel, and portfolio analytics platforms or other related tools.
