Procurement Specialist - Process, Tools, and Continuous Improvement

Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist – Process, Tools, and Continuous Improvement plays a vital leadership role in Scientific Games, overseeing and enhancing the entire Source-to-Pay process.  Responsibilities include documenting and optimizing the Source-to-Pay process and its sub-processes, delivering standardized tools to enhance procurement’s value, and managing all continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Job Description

• Process Mapping and Optimization – Lead the end-to-end Source-to-Pay process, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive effectiveness.  Continuously refine sub-processes to align with organizational goals and best practices.
• Comprehensive Documentation – Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all Source-to-Pay processes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and adherence to organizational standards and compliance requirements.
• Tool Development – Design and implement standardized tools and templates to enable procurement activities, such as RFP templates, supplier evaluation frameworks, risk management assessments, and department key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard.  Drive adoption through intuitive designs and stakeholder engagement.
• Tool Maintenance and Enhancement – Continuously evaluate and enhance existing procurement tools to ensure they remain up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with evolving business needs and industry trends.
• Change Management – Highlight the ability to lead and manage change initiatives within procurement processes, tools, and systems.  This includes fostering buy-in across teams and ensuring smooth adoption of new practices.
• Crisis and Contingency Planning – Address the role in developing contingency plans for procurement disruptions (e.g., supplier failure, market volatility) and ensuring the team is prepared for unexpected challenges.
• Data Analytics – Harness data analytics to uncover trends, identify improvement opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.  Build data-driven strategies to optimize procurement performance and enhance value delivery.
• Performance Reporting – Collaborate with the procurement analytics team to develop and deliver comprehensive reports and dashboards on procurement performance, KPIs, and key metrics.  Leverage analytics to provide actionable insights and effectively communicate findings to senior leadership and stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision making.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, manufacturing, and IT, to align procurement processes & tools with organizational goals and objectives.
• Training and Development – Provide training and support to procurement team members on the use of procurement tools and analytics techniques.  Promote a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the procurement function.
• Compliance – Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the procurement process.  Monitor and enforce compliance requirements related to procurement tools, processes, and data management.  Serve as lead auditee when the procurement function is audited for quality or regulatory compliance.
• Supplier Relationship Management – Collaborate with procurement tool suppliers and service providers to assess their solutions’ capabilities, enhance relationship, and leverage their expertise in supporting procurement process improvements.
• Budget Management – Take part in the development and management of procurement budget for assigned scope, ensuring that expenditures are within budgetary constraints and aligned with organizational objectives.
• Compliance and Risk Management – Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout the procurement process.  Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks to minimize potential disruptions to operations.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Prior experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management accepted in lieu of degree)

Years of Related Experience

• 1-5 years of experience in procurement, operations, or a related field with a focus on process improvement, data analysis, and tool implementation.  Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend solutions, and implement improvements.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, best practices, and industry trends, with a focus on strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
