Synechron is seeking a detail-oriented Reference Data Developer with deep Capital Markets reference data expertise. The role involves partnering with front-office, data governance, and technology teams to define, source, curate, and deliver critical reference data for trading, risk, compliance, and reporting systems. The candidate will work on data controls, addressing data exceptions, data quality, and data reconciliations for various data loads into the reference data platform. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience implementing reference data solutions using tools like GoldenSource, Markit EDM, or Calypso, along with strong knowledge of reference data vendor feeds and data patterns. Technical skills include strong ETL experience, Shell and Python scripting, experience with Cloudera data lake platform, RDBMS (Oracle, SQL, Postgres) with strong SQL skills, and DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience.
Must have:
  • Implement reference data solution using GoldenSource, Markit EDM, Calypso
  • Knowledge of reference data vendor feeds (Bloomberg, Reuters)
  • Data patterns and data integrity knowledge
  • Strong ETL experience
  • Strong Shell and Python scripting
  • Experience with Cloudera data lake platform
  • Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL, Postgres) and strong SQL
  • Reference data product platform knowledge (GoldenSource)

Our challenge

We’re seeking a detail‑oriented Reference Data - Golden Source Developer with deep Capital Markets reference‑data expertise. In this role, candidate will partner with front‑office, data governance and technology teams to define, source, curate and deliver critical reference data (e.g. instrument identifiers, legal‑entity data, product hierarchies) for trading, risk, compliance and reporting systems. Candidate combination of domain knowledge and technical acumen will ensure our reference‑data pipeline is accurate, complete and scalable.

Additional Information* 

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $120k – CAD $140k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Requirement is for Reference data developer position.
  • This resource will be primarily working on data controls work involving addressing data exceptions, data quality and data recons for various data loads into reference data platform.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in implementing reference data solution using tools like GoldenSource, Markit EDM, Calypso etc. Or similar in-house implementation.
  • Very good Knowledge of various reference data vendor feeds like Blomberg back office, Reuters LSEG data scope, Exegy, etc.
  • Good knowledge on various data patterns and data integrity related to reference data.
  • Technical expertise:
  • Strong ETL experience in Enterprise platform dealing with 1000+ files
  • Strong Shell and Python scripting
  • Experience with Cloudera data lake platform
  • Good experience working with RDBMS like Oracle, SQL or Postgres. Strong SQL skills.
  • Reference data product platform knowledge GoldenSource (or similar product).
  • Good experience in Dev Ops CI/CD pipeline using Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, RLM etc.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Scripting expertise (Python, Shell) for automation and data‐validation routines.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
