The Area:
Morningstar China team is responsible for helping our clients in China build their businesses and provide better outcomes for investors in the market.
The Role:
We’re now looking for a Sales Director, who will be based in Beijing. As a Sales Director, you will focus on generating new business across all of Morningstar’s main product lines and will be reporting to Head of Sales, China. Although you will receive some incoming leads, you will be responsible for generating the majority of new business leads on your own. Your target clients are insurance companies, asset managers, brokerage firms and fintech firms. We’re looking for someone with hands-on initiative, strong leadership, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Exceed the sales target, which is based on new business from new clients and growing an existing base of business.
- Work closely with other sales professionals, product, development, implementation and client and sales support teams to ensure a world-class solution offering for our clients.
- Ensure that our product lines meet the market needs and continue to grow the business.
- Take part in client forums and other activities with prospects and clients such as conferences and exhibitions.
- You will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting using our in-house Salesforce and CRM system and managing the contracts for new and renewal business.
- Other projects or tasks assigned by your manager.
Requirements:
- Passionate about helping investors achieve their goals
- A talented communicator and face-to-face presenter, able to demonstrate expert-level knowledge of the products sold and to represent Morningstar in a professional manner.
- Skilled at working as part of a team, sharing information, leads, market information, and competitive feedback with product management, sales colleagues, and management.
- 3 years above of business-to-business sales experience (or relevant marketing/commercial experience), preferably in the financial services sector.
- Prior experience supporting and/or selling financial data and solutions is preferred.
- Ability to understand complex investment requirements.
- Understanding of, or ability to learn fast about Morningstar capabilities and key intellectual properties.
- Excellent written and spoken Chinese & English language skills.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
Job requires +50% client interaction, including travels. Position is based at Beijing.
