Security System Manager
What You Will Do

- The position is part of a matrix security organization, reporting into Global Security JAPAC region, with a dual reporting line into the Global Technical Security Team.
- Responsible for the implementation of Amgen Global Technical Security Standards and Designs in the geographic region of responsibility.
- Supports the global roll out and implementation of Technical Security Standards and Strategy
- Ensure Global Security systems align with regulatory requirements and internal policies, standards, procedures and specifications.
- Analyze, evaluate the adequacy of security system and processes to ensure the security of company assets.
- Support and/or lead effort to identify and implement improvement opportunities in application processes, technologies and metrics.
- Contribute to the development and revision of system solution standards, technical specifications and procedures for applications across the enterprise.
- Program and maintain security system applications and databases associated with access control, security surveillance, visitor registration, incident reporting, badge issuance, personnel contact information, etc.
- Oversee the site’s badge/access card administration program (i.e. procurement, programming, issuance, and disposition) in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Coordinate the issuance, control, retrieval and disposition of the site’s master key system; and ensures that the master key system integrity is maintained.
- Establish and implement software and maintenance agreements.
- Respond and coordinate the response to security issues and problems. Implement solutions and call out as required.
- Participate in the development and implementation of asset life cycle and management plans.
- Maintain alarm management and reporting program.
- Compile, prepare and analyze security system statistical reports and make recommendations.
- Coordinate service delivery activities with security suppliers as directed.
- Act as main contact and vendor relationship liaison with company security equipment and integrators.
- Create effective awareness, communications and training programs pertaining to the effective operation of security technology and applications.
- Develop data integrity processes and configuration standards for enterprise systems and applications.
- Identify technologies to increase efficiencies and reporting capabilities to the Global Security team.
- Liaise with IT regarding system software upgrades and patch schedules for server-based applications
- Develop retention cycle programs for data/information and technology devices.
- Partner with IT on compatibility and configurations of applications so that they are delivered effectively without interruptions or delay.
- Provide tactical management guidance, subject matter expertise and tools to ensure that best course of action is employed to protect physical assets, proprietary information, and personnel.
- Responsible for implementation, administration and maintenance of Global Security’s systems and technology solutions in support of a site, function and/or region.
- Implementation of risked-based asset protection plans, systems, process and procedures.
- System Owner for badge access control systems in identified Amgen sites and offices.
- Business owner for access control, CCTV, and visitor management systems.
- Preventative maintenance and spare parts administration.
- Project management, including system design and configuration, validation, testing and commissioning of hardware and programming for access control and CCTV systems.
- Standard Operating Procedure and business practice writing, ownership, and upkeep for GMP and non-GMP security systems and processes.
- System hardware preventive maintenance and inventory management.
- System Validation and testing of GMP security systems.
- Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects or activities within own department or workgroup and where applicable, the Global Technical Security Strategy
- Establishes working relationships with other key customers and the Extended Technical Security Team (XTT)
- Enhances own knowledge through understanding business trends, business standard processes and objectives.
- Assists with future solutions, innovations and knowledge of industry and business principles as related to security systems
- Develops own project management techniques supporting existing and future projects
- Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations/problems using multiple sources of information
- Work is guided by operational and project objectives
- Contributes to Global Security/Security Systems program by ensuring quality of tasks/ services provided by self and others assisting in a project or assignment
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and 4 to 6 years of Information Science experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 to 8 years of Information Science experience OR
- Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Information Science experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and/or certifications in handling access control (Honeywell ProWatch), alarm monitoring, video surveillance, badge printing and visitor management systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP network architecture.
- Good communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively with external business partners and contractors.
