Job Description

The Treasury Platform at a Bank uses Ab Initio extensively for developing, maintaining, and supporting business applications. This platform supports Treasury and ALM Risk functions globally, operating 24/7 across multiple locations. The role requires a Senior Ab Initio Developer to design, develop, test, and analyze applications using Ab Initio products. Responsibilities include preparing deployment scripts, troubleshooting production issues, performance tuning, code optimization, and mentoring junior developers. The ideal candidate will have strong Ab Initio experience in financial services, proficiency in GDE, Express IT, Co-op System, EME, BRE, and Plan IT, and expertise in databases (Oracle, MS SQL) and Unix/Linux. Agile methodology and Jira experience is a must.

Must have:

6-10 years Ab Initio experience in financial services
Proficient in Ab Initio tools (GDE, Express IT, etc.)
Strong database concepts (OLTP, OLAP)
Oracle, MS SQL, Unix/Linux expertise
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Agile project experience and Jira familiarity

Good to have:

Understanding of financial products

The Treasury Platform makes extensive use of AbInitio products to develop, maintain and support functionally rich Business applications. The platform supports the Bank's Treasury and ALM Risk functions. The platform operates 24/7 supporting teams in Sydney, Asia, Europe, and North America.

Responsibilities

Seeking a strong AbInitio developer the following key areas:

Development, testing, analysis and design applications using AbInitio software products.

Preparation of deployment and configuration scripts within the delivery channel including Production

Troubleshooting and second line support of Production application

Performance tuning and code optimization

Mentoring junior developers

Skills

Must have

6 to 10 years of relevant professional experience as a Ab Initio developer in financial services industry

Proven track record of delivery with Ab Initio software

Proficient in using the Ab Initio development products = GDE, Express>IT, Co>Op System, EME, BRE, Plan IT (or Conduct IT)

Experience in Ab Initio developing generic and reusable Ab Initio graphs to solve business problems.

Strong on database concepts. OLTP vs OLAP systems.

Good level of expertise in Oracle , MS SQL and Unix/Linux

Very good communication & analytical skills

Good stakeholder management, coordination & collaboration skills

Good experience working on Agile projects & familiarity with JIRA

Creative/innovative thinker

Nice to have

Understanding of Financial products is preferred
