This is a senior-level position reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting with primary responsibility of ensuring proper revenue, expense and balance sheet reporting around our software business. The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will play an integral role around revenue recognition and revenue and expense reporting within our Finance and Accounting departments.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with data integrity and validation exercises as well as compiling various revenue and expense reporting around our software business (this will involve some contract and invoice vouching)
  • Gaining an understanding of the post-merger Anthology business across its products, customers, entities, markets, etc.
  • Performing analytical procedures YoY and QoQ on revenue, expense, and balance sheet as needed 
  • Assisting with building out and testing reporting requirements based on business needs and requests from upper management 
  • Working cross-functionally with IT, Sales, Accounting and Finance while assisting with system integration efforts 
  • Attending daily meetings with Accounting and IT and occasional meetings with third parties to discuss requirements as well as results 
  • Performing ongoing data validation and change capture analysis across several reports on which the business relies 
  • Assisting Accounting and Financial Reporting teams with some month-end close tasks 
  • Helping compile and validate GAAP and non-GAAP metrics and KPI’s monthly for management and third parties 
  • Assisting with ad-hoc revenue and expense reporting requests from upper management and other parties 
  • Assisting with future ERP implementation efforts, primarily around data mapping and data validation between pre-merger legacy accounting systems 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications: 

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting; with 2-5 years’ work-related experience in a relevant position
  • Strong work ethic, communication and organizational skills 
  • Self-motivated, can multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment 
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work with varying levels of employees  
  • Strong excel skills are critical 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above

 

Preferred skills/qualifications

  • Experience with the basic principles of accounting including revenue and accruals 
  • Experience working with Dynamics 365, Peoplesoft, SalesForce or PowerBI
