Located in our headquarters office in our Burbank office, the Senior Business Partner, People & Culture (P&C) will work with a diverse set of leaders and teams to positively impact and enhance employee satisfaction. This candidate must be able to effectively work across all levels of the organization, ensuring that HR practices support the businesses’ strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, People & Culture, this role will support various client groups such as: Licensing, Loungefly, and Brand Marketing. Please note that client groups may change based on business needs. Some travel will be required.
What You’ll Do
- Successfully coach and counsel leaders on maintaining positive employee relations and serve as a primary point of contact for leaders on determining resolution for a wide range of people-related matters.
- Partners with internal business partners on resource planning, including helping to design jobs and write job descriptions for both full time and temporary staff; will work with talent acquisition to ensure that roles move through the hiring process as quickly as possible.
- Provides support for organizational design and change management.
- Consults on and/or builds People & Culture programming aligned with Funko’s Talent Strategy.
- Implements new People & Culture programs for the business including training and supporting sustainment activities.
- Works with leadership to create and implement new policies and P&C processes.
- Facilitates exit interviews and manages the separation process, following up with action items in relation to separation reasons.
- Conducts investigations in response to employee relations issues and recommend/implement courses of action based on investigation results.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws in all employee related practices including FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, EEO, ADA, CFRA, PDL and other federal and state employment laws.
- May assist with training internally on process/systems and may additionally assist assigned partners with staff training resources.
- Act as liaison between employees and leaders to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned which may include cross-team initiatives across all U.S. locations.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of progressive responsibility in HR roles including demonstrated competence in employee relations, coaching, performance management, HR compliance, HR data analysis, HR tools, and employee communications.
- 5+ years serving in an HR Business Partner function, preferably in a consumer goods organization, licensing, retail, entertainment or the high-tech industry.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Superior knowledge of US employment law including state specific laws with an emphasis on CA employment law.
- Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills.
- Proven ability to identify and drive appropriate solutions, translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple, customer-focused and adaptable to unique and changing business needs.
- Ability to operate independently, using sound judgement to make decisions.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy.
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $105,000 - $130,500 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
