The Senior Design Reliability Engineer will ensure timely releases of innovative, high-quality products. Responsibilities include leading and supporting the quality vision, contributing to product development, providing reliability engineering services, developing test plans, coordinating reliability goals, translating test data, working with product engineering on requirements, developing a reliability plan, participating in design reviews, performing statistical data analysis, and monitoring field performance post-launch. Training on quality and reliability engineering concepts will also be provided.
Must have:
  • Master's degree in relevant engineering field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence effectively.
  • Competence in product reliability tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in reliability modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills.

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to manage large reliability programs spanning across the entire product development life cycle of medical products for our Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGTS) Business. We are seeking for a confident driver on quality and reliability management related topics, in order to achieve timely releases of innovative products that deliver high quality and outstanding reliability to the lives they will improve.
 

Your role:

  • Lead and support the quality vision of Reliability Engineering to all Philips internal customers and team members.

  • Key contributor in the product development process to ensure the reliability of the product is statistically validated, supporting new product launches and existing product support.

  • Provide reliability-engineering services to all Philips internal customers including: Reliability analyses, reliability predictions, reliability testing and test planning, and reliability related problem solving.   

  • Develop detailed reliability test plans to ensure that appropriate testing and sample test size is utilized to demonstrate product reliability goals.

  • Coordinate efforts to establish product reliability goals and to plan, execute and monitor activities aimed at achieving those goals.

  • Support the group by translating test data into reliability predictions.

  • Work with product engineering to develop reliability requirements and decompositions, establish a reliability program and perform appropriate analyses to ensure that new medical products meet all appropriate requirements. 

  • Develop a reliability plan that documents tasks, methods, tools, tests and analyses required to ensure products are safe and reliable. 

  • Participate in preparing schedules and work estimates for reliability activities.

  • Perform Design FMEAs with teams on all new products and recommend design changes to improve product reliability, as well as being involved in Process FMEAs.

  • Participate in product design reviews during new product development to ensure robustness of product design and manufacturing processes. 

  • Perform statistical data analysis, regression modeling, Weibull Analysis, hazard analysis, reliability growth assessment and prediction, and warranty trend analysis. 

  • Post product launch, monitor field performance and if problems arise, work on failure root cause analysis, corrective action development and resolution verification. 

  • Conduct training on quality and reliability engineering concepts in the organization. 


You're the right fit if:

  • Masters degree in Reliability Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in in a regulated industry (preferably medical) with product reliability of complex electrical/mechanical products.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate, interact and influence effectively at technical levels across functions.

  • Demonstrated success in leading change for product quality and reliability.

  • Demonstrated competence in product reliability tools, statistical sampling,  and methodologies

  • Highly passionate and positive infectious attitude who strives for high performance and product quality.

  • Desire to work in an R&D laboratory environment and possess a high-level of self-motivation and ability to work on a team, as well as the ability to effectively manage time, organize and prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments is necessary.

  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal English communication skills expected.

  • Experience in reliability modeling, statistical analysis, warranty analysis, HALT, ALT, transfer functions, dFMEA, and fault tree analysis, as well as experience using Weibull++, Minitab, and SAP.
